The simple fact that they have several locations in expensive areas, staff, seem to travel a lot, etc.

If they were only online + some pop ups events, they'd probably enough to be more profitable without paying rent + the staff (these have huge costs).

One other thing: their size charts are too amateurish. I passed on buying something several times because I didn't feel like the hassle of ordering it in several sizes to get mine, then send back the others, etc. In the age of online shopping, having good size charts for all your popular products (or nearly all your products) is the bare minimum.
I don't like the prices but I don't fault the for the way they run their business. Nobody is going to get a great business going by catering to fussy menswear guys who comparison shop every product to death. They obviously want to target young well to do professionals in Asia who are transitioning their money from 2k balenciaga hoodies to something more respectable.

Back at it again with the games suit. Did not purchase anything from the archive sale!

A lot of speculation on Drake’s margins.

You can get an idea by looking at their financial statements, which are available here:

A bit surprised that their gross profit margin is so low. Also thought Mark would be netting a bit more profit.

Hi. I like the Crosby shoes but do not want to pay over £300 for a pair of casual shoes. I understand Astorflex and Varesca do very similar models - the Dukeflex and Flizzon, respectively. The key for me for the look is the toebox. Anyone have any thoughts on which is the most similar to the Crosby, as it would be nice to save a bit of money and maybe use the rest to be a tie.

I wore these to the Drake’s store the other day and one of the guys asked me how I was liking their boots…

Re pricing:
Looks like they've started dropping some spring/summer pieces, see the "new in" tab on their website.
Not really a fan of the flap pockets on the new tan cotton chore. I like to wear my "thinner" chores (as opposed to thicker fall/winter ones) with pocket squares and the flap on the breast pocket seems to make that somewhat awkward. Like the MOP buttons (as always) but €820 for a simple cotton chore is crazy expensive imo.

I have the Berwick equivalent, via AFPOS, and must say they fit the bill nicely.

Locations, staff, travels and some imperfections of the doing business- all these makes Drake's that we love.
Otherwise it would be an another LVMH-like brand without soul

I also have one of those vests and love it. I think it's the best colourway they've done so far. I've found it surprisingly versatile, and wear it a lot more than I thought I would
