Hey Gents, trying to see if you guys think this coat is too large.. I’m thinking it is a tad but its also nice to have a slouchy look.. I like the length but on the body, it feels like a blanket 😂.. it could work however.. thanks!

I think it looks great for that slouchy, relaxed, oversized look, and the sleeves are spot-on. Keep in mind that you're wearing a tshirt, and with sweaters or other layering it's going to take up some of that room. I guess it depends on the silhouette you're going for ultimately, but I personally prefer that look and my Drake's bal fits exactly the same

If its a 42, then it is definitely too big and should hand it over to me.....

JK, fit looks good (great even),

Hi all. Looking to upgrade my wardrobe a bit. I do not own any sport coat today and was thinking of getting a navy one that can be worn with both tailored trousers and denim.

The Travel Jacket caught my eye. Does anyone own it?

Other options I’m considering are
I bought, and returned, the Travel Jacket mainly because it didn't fit me well across the shoulders although the sleeves were the right length for me. But I was also bothered that the outline of the buttoned internal pocket was quite visible through the outer fabric of the jacket. The whole look wasn't as sharp as I had hoped.

I've also been off and on about getting a Ring Balloon Jacket, they are very nice but the fabric is so "breathable" that your shirt can be quite visible beneath it. It's a thing you've got to either be ok with or not.

I’ve recently done this. Drake’s has something called a ‘sartorial’ line which has loads of fabric options for MTM.

I picked out a classic navy hopsack that I can wear pretty much anywhere. They took at least a dozen measurements and I had options for buttons and much more. My price was in ‘Band B’ but I am not aware of the other price points. The jacket was $2200 before tax. I think delivery time was just under 3 months.

I did this in person in NYC.

Btw I learned that the sartorial line fits more slim than the regular lines. For instance I am a 38 in chore coats but a 40 in sport coats.

This is my first foray onto this thread as all I have only purchased a few ties From Drakes.

But now I have another reason to consider Drakes. Navy blazers (odd jackets) are a wardrobe staple and I have commissioned three bespoke ones from my Neapolitan tailor. One for summer made of Minnis Frescos. One for winter made of Minnis flannel. And one for shoulder season made from Bates and Ogden 14oz hopsack. I also went down to Florence and got an unstructured MTO Vestrucci in Spring Ram for travel. I am now seeking an unstructured blazer in cotton. I cannot justify bespoke on an unstructured (no canvass or padding) blazer in cotton. Which brings me here with two questions:
1. Are there any options I should consider other than the Drakes heavy cotton twill Games jacket?; and
2. I saw a reference to a not-as-heavy Drakes cotton navy Games jacket on this thread. Is that available seasonally and what is the weight?
Thanks

Those all sound like great jackets! How do you like the Spring Ram? I'm currently having it made up as a suit in charcoal (98263).

Drake's usually has a few navy cotton or cotton blend Games blazers in their lineup. In the past they've done a lightweight cotton-linen blend in their MK I silhouette (looks like there's one left online), and also a similarly light cotton-canvas MK II. I have the cotton-canvas MK II as a suit and get a lot of use out of it. I would say it's at the dressier end of the Games spectrum due to the color and weave but it still feels very unapologetically casual.

You should know that the Games pieces are almost more workwear than "tailoring" per se: most have no vents, relaxed silhouettes, plain-cuffed non-functional sleeves without buttons or buttonholes, and no canvas or lining (except the sleeves in some make-ups, like the tweed versions). They're fun, useful pieces, but they're likely to be much more casual than the other jackets in your collection.

Although it's half-canvassed, based on your taste in bespoke, this might be more what you're after, if you can find it in your size:

Hey all! I’m getting married in early March and am looking into drakes MTO currently.

I stopped by the Savile row store today and loved some of the flannel I was shown.

However I’m a little unsure whether or not flannel is too casual for a/my wedding- what do you think? I want it to look formal without being stuffy and am looking at a chocolate brown suit.

Basically- is flannel too informal for one’s wedding do you think?

Flannel might be too warm for March. Maybe consider charcoal.

Hey, it’s your wedding. Unless your partner hates flannel, go for it. There are few things more beautiful than the dimples of pick stitching in flannel.
