If you like the chore coats, but the prices less so, I've been intrigued by these by Percival. Does anyone have experience with this brand?

Tempting; some of the checked wool shirts are very nice also. Collar is a bit small though (as are 90% of non-Drake’s models around, sadly).

I just got one for real cheap (99 pounds), and just received it, the cut is pretty good (size up i would say, XL is perfect when I am always between a L and XL), it feels a bit light compared to others, definitely not as sturdy as Drake's. The finishing are pretty good for the price range but I would not necessarily be happy if I paid the full price (i pulled on one sleeve and the inner sleeve stretched which is indicative of the qualiy
Which color did you go for? I'm thinking about the green.

Damn, I love the silhouette of the Drakes Balmacaan. I have been after a navy coat and think this may be the one. The other fabrics are great too, but the simple navy hits all the right notes for me.

Same. It’s high on my wishlist. Also because I can wear it over a suit, for business attire.

On the topic of denim, I’ve just noticed new lighter weight denims (Italy) for less money than the ‘normal’ ones. Anyone tried these on?

And in above instagram video which I posted, is he wearing stonewash or bleach?

For those of you with the casentino pullover, how have the cuffs lasted over time, and how has washing the garment gone? My concern, particularly with the orange version, is that the cuffs will quickly become ratty. Cheers
I’ve worn mine every single day since I received it 3 weeks ago and getting some pilling and darkening around the cuff edges already. If you took a lot of care and treated as a $1k wool piece instead of a sports pullover ymmv. I think it’s a legitimate concern in orange and would guide toward the navy option if ratty cuffs would annoy you. I see it as part of the charm of the piece. It’s a fun construction and fabric for the garment with real trade-offs, but it wouldn’t stop me from the orange. Lovely and vibrant color in-person

The fit on that guy is hideous, neither the rise, nor the slight taper is doing him any favour. I did quite a bit of research on this subject because I have a similar build (slightly wider hips, big thigs and calves from being a former athlete, a tiny bit of love handles, the works, although I'm not as chubby) and couldn't find denim that fit me decently and the rise on the allegedly high waisted Drake's denim is mid at best and doesn't quite cut it imho. Thick fabric, very nice looking and uniform fade, beautiful buttons/rivets and leather patch - you can definitely tell the quality is there - but I ended up returning them nonetheless.

Out of the ones I got to try on (if memory serves, Drake's, Berg and Berg, Livid, OrSlow, Real Mcoy's, Naked and Famous and Warehouse, whatever model had the highest back rise for each brand), the OrSlow 105's have by far the highest back and front rise and their 1 year, 2 year and 90's used washes suit classic menswear and workwear/americana repro outfits great. I did not like the 3 years wash Fransboone carries because the washing process thinned the fabric a tad too much.

Also, if you get OrSlows keep in mind that the the lighter the wash, the smaller the garment. The shrinking is noticeable even if they're labeled as the same size (they do shrink far less afterwards tho).

The 105's look mid rise judging by photos. The Berg and Berg (Arthur model) look a lot higher. They are allegedly 32 cm/12.5 inches in front rise. If you don't mind, do you know what rise the 105's have? I remember trying the 107's but was not impressed by the lack of seat and thigh room.

107's are a different fit. They're cut slimmer and they have a shorter rise and a bit of a taper as well, IIRC (which is why I went for the roomier ones).

Back rise on my 1 year wash 105's was 44 Cm, front rise was 34'ish.

Looks like OrSlow measurements may vary slightly depending on the year/batch though, plenty of people reporting moderate inconsistencies on the web.

Also, if you get OrSlows

I have Orslow denim, whites in 107. Love the fit. Never tried the 105s.

Have tried on Drake’s but wasn’t entirely sure, so did not buy. I don’t find the fit on him that hideous to be fair, he wears them with confidence and in the end it’s always a subjective assessment.

Look at the crotch area. Not quite what I would normally associate with comfort and proper fitting pants, let alone high-end menswear.
