I'm not generally a big fan of graphic T's but the new Haibara UT prints are nice.

how do you guys wear your heat-tech shirts?

do you wear it as an undershirt? i.e under a flannel or cotton shirt

or do you wear it as a shirt, perhaps putting a cardigan or jacket over it?

For the shirts, I only really wear them for sport or apres-sport in teh case of my new Yoda long sleeve.

I've done it occasionally under sweater or sweatshirt depending … but as an undershirt yes. I have a couple white ones hat I've found are great as an insulating layer underneath a dress shirt in the winter (v-neck so no vis of course).

You're right some of those are cool. I have a Basquiat one from a previous release.

Undershirt only since I only have heat-tech v-necks and they are deep.

I was thinking of buying one of the Water Defender down jackets for hiking, but they don't seem to carry them anymore. Patagonia doesn't seem to carry their Encapsil down jacket anymore either. Water resistant down seemed like such a great idea, particularly since the process reportedly made the down fibers loftier and more durable too.

Anyone know anything about the Uniqlo jackets in particular or that down treatment in general?

Edit: Looks like LL Bean still carries their water resistant "DownTec" stuff.

Is there any way to stretch out the slim fit stretch jeans (these)? I love the look but feel they're too tight around the legs.

I have this. It is one of the best items I have bought at Uniqlo. A nice clean look. The hood is ample; I hate tiny hoods. It isn't amazing but it is as good as anything selling for 2x as much. The inside has a rubbery feel due to the waterproofing, which doesn't bug me but you may not care for it. It is a good deal at full price. I haven't worn it in the driving rain, so I don't know how it would handle that.

If they're too tight just buy a size up

This is the solution for all the pants - you can dial in the fit by going up or down a size or two, or switching the cut. The jump between sizes is not that significant.
