I forget who said this, but any shirt worth buying is worth tailoring.
Yeah you definitely need to tuck the oxfords. I am also looking for decent untuck shirts.
Question: how do you tailor your tuck shirts into untuck shirts? What do you ask the tailor? Is there a standard length from your waist to end of the shirt for untuck shirts?
I reckon Uniqlo will be fine
here's the tasmanian wool suit in navy with slim fit jacket.
sorry for the flip flops, was just trying to let SFer know the fit of this suit.
didn't even have time to get the jacket's sleeves hemed.
dude how tall are u and what size is that?
That's not me lol
Just from a friend's blog - 180cm with sz 49 TOJ bomber and Medium Uniqlo
Why ? does it look too big or ?
Anyone have any idea what size the +J Premium Down Parka I should be grabbing? I'm 5'10 and 135. Mostly worried about the length. I'm leaning towards a medium (from asia).
What do you usually wear in Uniqlo? I'm 5'11 and 150 and I usually wear a large. Mediums fit a little snug but are usually a touch short in the sleeves.
FYI, I buy all my Uniqlo when I'm in Asia, so ^ is Asian sizing. In America I usually wear smalls or mediums. I find size small dress shirt to be similar in fit to mediums, or a little slimmer than a slim fit Large in Uniqlo.
There's no exact science to it; I just try the shirt on at the tailor's and show them where I want it hemmed. You want it short enough that it doesn't hang down below your crotch but long enough that you're not going to flash skin every time you sit down, move your arms, &c. You can also have your tailor decrease the difference in length between the front and the side of the hem so you don't get the Band of Outsiders effect where it's really long in the front and really short on the side.
The picture chiggah posted looks great. If you're really nervous about getting your shirt hemmed, just bring in a picture like that to show them how you want it to fit (or bring with a shirt that you already think is a good length to wear untucked).
Also, consider tailoring it a tad slimmer than usual, poorly fitting shirts tend to stand out more when untucked.
I think these guys do it pretty well:
+J premuim down parka looks nice.
This might do for Chicago winters.
Anyone doing pick ups for these?
OMG tomorrow is the day!!
Are you guys gonna buy immediately tomorrow ?
^ yep. I'm looking to see whether the +J trench coat feels solid enough to shield me from this terrible new york rain.
Awesome. Lining up proxies now.
If you could guys could give a few quick thoughts on the collection (especially the trench ) tomorrow that would be awesome.
Sucks that we don't have any Uniqlos here.
