    Ratboycom how tall are you?

Can anyone confirm that Uniqlo NY/UK have the same tops as Uniqlo Japan/HK in terms of all measurements, but with longer sleeve lengths?

Perhaps I'm spoiled because I live within a train ride of Uniqlo, but it's really not worth the hype.

Tell you what... go to your local Target. Buy a shirt. Have it taken in slightly by a tailor. Now you have a Uniqlo shirt.

    how do their oxfords fit?

i'm looking for some pretty slim (slims body, and arms) and cheap oxfords that are short enough to wear untucketed and still look good. i usually wear a medium, i'm a size 38 jacket. 6'0 about 160. should i go with a medium?

i usually wear small, am a size 38 jacket, 6'1" and 155. i got their oxford cloth button downs in small and wear them untucked. they are my go-to shirts when i cant decide what to wear. i have one in yellow, white, blue and red.

    hope this helps.

Do you have a Gap? Uniqlo doesn't offer anything exceptional, just sizes that are slightly more slim-fitting than your typical mass market retailer. They may have a few more choices in terms of color but no more than a serviceable online retailer like the other SF-approved head-scratcher, Lands End Canvas. With quality and design, Uniqlo is no better than any mall brand. I've been to the store several times. I've come away with two oxford shirts. They're nice. They're serviceable. For $20 each, they're a good deal. But that's it.

The hype can get out of hand, but as far as variety in basics go, Uniqlo is unmatched. They offer enough colorways of virtually every non outwear piece they have that it's tough not to find something you can integrate into a good outfit.

It's a great place for people just getting their feet wet with this whole dressing aesthetically well. Past that, it's a great place for someone who has a better idea of how they want to dress to grab a few items and use them accordingly in their fits. By that, I mean you can get some nice, well-fitting plaid or flannels that can be paired with more high-end pieces.

I'm not to a point where every piece I wear can be pricey, so Uniqlo represents a great place to grab some truly inexpensive basics to fill out my wardrobe. The black and grey S-002 jeans I have from there along with a deep navy blue pair of flat-front pants are some of my most worn bottoms. All in, I think they were like $70.

I already posted this in the recommend me x thread, but I figured there's a uniqlo thread so why not ask for advice. What should I be on the lookout for when I go? I need a couple OCBDs for student teaching, so I'm planning to pick up a couple. I'm also going to try getting some basic tees to fill out my wardrobe, but what else there should I look at?

I'm set for denim btw, I wish I wasn't because I've heard theirs are cheap and quality.

I've only been there during the summer, but for the prices, I've heard good things about the cardigans, flannels and trenches they usually roll out when leaves start to fall from the trees.

Can someone do me a favor and measure the shoulder seam to cuff sleeve length of their FW2010 flannel or oxford shirt from Uniqlo NY and post the size as well? [IMG]

    get the vintage chinos.

I've seen them mentioned a ton and that would definitely be great as a pair of teaching pants/casual khakis.

Dude, thanks! That means Uniqlo US size S = Uniqlo JP size S for their flannel shirts, the measurements are almost exactly the same.

The big difference, now confirmed, is that the sleeves are 2" longer in the US.
