got my box of uniqlo purchases... pretty disappointed but there are some gems.

UU Down jacket is a joke. flimsy and cheap, feels like a plastic bag. odd measurements and cheap plastic zippers. criminal to charge $60 on sale let alone $100

Pullover hoody and zip up.. it's no wonder they're only about $30 bucks. Fabric feels much cheaper than AA and HM. Best bet is to hunt around on yoox for better hoodies at around the same price.

Socks are ok. They're socks. But for $6 more you can get those happy socks or other alternatives that will feel way better.

I figured the belt would feel cheap, and I wasn't wrong.

All the boxer briefs were fine... will be buying these from now on. Better than gap or any other alternatives, but we'll see what happens after a wash. Still can't tell the difference between the Dry/stretch/cotton alternatives, they all look and feel the same. They're cut pretty short though and I can't seem to find them in a longer length.

The t shirts were the highlight as they're only $6 and feel pretty good. Size small fits perfect on a medium frame but cut really short, Medium is big and baggy but might shrink after washing. In any case I kind of like them more than everlane, especially for the price.

Might check out the jeans but I'm probably going to stick with shirts for now.

I wasn't expecting anything to be honest. I have enough jackets in the higher end, but I don't use them much due to l.a. being moderately warm in the winter. Thought the UU jacket would be lightweight and it looked decent in the pictures so thought it'd be interesting to try out.

I guess I shouldn't expect much from the $90 jeans either right? Even though everyone compares them to APC at half the price.

Finally tried on the oxfords, fit was just like Gitman imo, a little longer in length and sleeves. No collar roll though so I'm not sure it's worth the $50 saved...

Everyone who has never handled uniqlo and places an order after following this thread is always disappointed.

If you take into account what they offer at what price and the breadth of their selection they are unbeatable. I'd like to know what you don't consider cheap feeling so I can handle it and say how cheap it feels /realtalk

My merino cardigan compares to 200 dollar cardigans and it cost 30 bux.

Actually L.A. Guy speaks very highly of the Uniqlo jeans. Not everything at Uniqlo is a gem, no. But they generally punch above their weight at the price point offered. I'm sure there are other labels that offer the same or better for acomparable price. But Uniqlo is pretty solid. For me, it's one of the nest off the rack fits I've found so far.

Yeah I bought 3 pair as I left a bunch of socks at home and all 3 have already fallen apart in 1.5 months of wear. A huge joke.

Also, you can say Happy Socks or whatever are $6 more (and Happy Socks are actually worse than Uniqlo socks IME), but that's also three times the price. Either go big with socks or buy Uniqlo.

part of the fun i suppose is ordering different things and seeing what works best. like I said, the dry shirts are pretty awesome and will probably become my new undershirt. Even though the cut is baggier, the price is so cheap, i'll probably buy a ton and get them tailored. Underwear is nice as well.
I haven't tried the button down shirts but people seem to like them. I'll try the merino and cashmere for shits and giggles, though i'll probably be disappointed as the only reference point cashmere I own is from lanvin lol.

that being said, I still think the UU jacket and hoodies are garbage, and i've bought better from h&m at around the same price or even less.

for the record i've never worn happy socks, but when I handled them they instantly felt much better than uniqlo. also, I didn't mention which style of socks I got ( the really thin rib knit ones).
