I don't think it is new, because I saw it listed as a sale item in this thread about 3 weeks ago. Here is a picture (sleeves need to be shortened). Unfortunately, you can't see much detail in it. They were on sale for $60 and came in midnight blue, black and brown.
So it looks like not all Uniqlo jackets have a high button stance, or the angle in this photo is deceiving.
The button stance is maybe 1 inch above a typical suit jacket
time to buy more airism boxers.
This seems a little over the top to me, particularly for what could be considered an entry-level pair of selvage jeans. I just machine-wash cold on the gentle cycle with a little Dr. Bronner's and hang to dry. I did this with the black regular straight fits, and I didn't notice much shrinkage. The waist tightens up a little, but it stretches back out quickly.
Also possible that height has something to do with it. It'd probably look higher on someone taller.
edit: Quick question - did they have the velvet blazer in any other colors, or just midnight blue?
It is possible the button would have been lower on someone taller (I'm 5'7" but long-waisted), but the button was higher on me than other jackets/blazers I have tried on, so on a relative basis, it is higher.
They had the blazer in black as well. I think there may have been brown also, but there was just one left.
To each his own.
Thanks, I may see if I can still land one in black.
I meant that the button stance would appear higher on someone taller. Added height --> longer torso --> top button hitting higher on the torso.
If anyone sees any UU hooded blouson left in XS or S in any color left in stores, PM me
I got the jacket back from the tailor last night, and checked out the button stance again. The top button does button quite high compared to what I am used to, about 1.5" higher.
Also, I was wrong that the jacket had jetted pockets. It actually has flap pockets, but the flaps were just tucket in the pocket. However, if you do just tuck them in, then they look just like jetted pockets.
If anyone cares, the Uniqlo pop up shop in SF has about ~10 new button down shirts since the day it opened. They replaced most of the graphic tees in the middle w/ button downs. Colors were meh, I picked out 1 I liked.
They also have ls crew heat tech that wasn't there last week.
And has anyone in NYC seen any black UU denim around still? Sort of regret not getting a pair when I had the chance.
Where is your local store?
If you can, please tell me anything and everything about this sport coat: http://pinterest.com/pin/162974080236286481/
has anyone been to the SF pop up store yet?
