I am unable to appreciate your weird, kinky sort of salutation. Hi, though.

Idk why I like so much the simple swan neck.
What’s the leather?
I wouldn’t call that a swan neck really. But I dig the design a lot.

the leather is dark brown museum calf

My first pairs of Vass (F-last) have just arrived. Contrary to what some say, it has no high instep. I have a normal foot, with a slightly strong ankle and lightly higher instep. The shoes are very tight and shouldn’t be any more so. One pair is tighter in width than the other, the reason for which can be spotted on the sole - the stitching is more towards the center of the shoe.

I have inquired with Vass about the heel stiffener topic. They were very kind but evasive on this topic but have offered to have “some leather” add as I have a protruding bone at the heels which causes very painful problems with many shoes. It is thus fairly safe to state that Vass is indeed using Celastic on their heels. What a pity. I hope they will change back to quality soon.
What other brands of shoes have you or do you wear?

but a significant amount of Vass shoes have gaping on various clients feet (this forum is a rather small universe and we have several cases), where that is aparently not the case with other brands. That incresed incidense of gaping cases with Vass shoes suggest that there maight be an issue within Vass lasts/patterns.

The "gaping" has been well discussed on this forum.

General consensus is that Vass is not the brand for folks with flat feet. For everyone else it's very slight and almost always because the shoe is a bit big.

With the recent sale, I decided to try and invest in a pair of Vass. I went for a model named "Budapest Oxford", a full brogue on the U last in three different types of museum calf (brown, walnut and gold).

Sizing for the U last, I understood, could be a bit challenging, but thanks to a review I stayed with my 'normal' size instead of sizing up. (For refs: my normal size is EU42 or UK8, with some preference for sizing down in certain lasts / brands.)
For me, size 42 in the U last seems to work. Yes, it is a narrow last, the fitting certainly is snug and the lacing shows a clear 'V' (not unlike the 'V' in the pictures of @Noblekostas). But I am certain this will improve over time and sizing up (as suggested for this last) would make 'things' only worse on the long run.

Overall, I am very very pleased with this pair, which is my first pair in this league and hope to wear it with joy and pride.

See the picture from Vass' website for illustration.

I have the same model and although it is a formal" brogue, it has a bit of fun added to it due to the colour variation. Enjoy!

Finally, my first ever order of Vass Alt English Oxfords on modified F last arrived and I must say, I couldn’t be happier with the quality of the shoes, their fit, and the more than awesome customer service and assistance by Rezsö!

My first purchase of the same shoes was directly from the website in size 44 (suggested by Rezsö) but they felt slightly tighter on my feet as I have slightly wider forestep. Rezsö was more than happy and helpful to work with me in getting my foot measurements and then have the last modified according to my measurements. I must say, these shoes fit as good as my feet were measured in store by Vass associate.
