So I managed to get home for a couple of days and pick up my replacement Vass - these were ordered in 42.5, originally sent in 43, and now delivered agin in.....

Bit surprised this happened twice in a row, but the fit of the 42 is actually pretty good. A bit more snug than my 9uk MH71, but G&G recommended sizing down to 8.5 for my next pair so maybe 42 is fine. I'm going to wear them around the house this evening to see and at this point am cautiously optimistic, but still a bit shocked that the replacement for a wrong simple came in a different wrong size.

In other topics, if one wears a 42 in U last, does that take the same size in F? I've got a couple of orders I'm thinking through while the euro is low.

The line to the right of "42" indicates a half size.

Those are 42.5.

Does anyone have pics of a chukka in f last antique cognac? Thinking of this for my next make up.

In Budapest today and called in at Vass where I had the pleasure of finally meeting Mr Kuti in person, a real gentleman. I saw a pair of F last Chukkas in chocolate brown in the store, my god they are gorgeous. If they had had my size then I would have been in like Flynn. Honestly I cannot believe I have seen a better colour in this boot, the whole thing screams class. Sorry no pictures, phone free afternoon.

1. You got 42,5 as others have stated. The line indicates half size.
2. I'm a size 41,5 in U. While I'm able to wear the same size in F, I do prefer he snuger fit of a 41 (1/2 size down from U). F in the same size as U is fine the first wearings. But after the break in period and stretching, it's a little to roomy across the vamp and ankle. At least for me.

Thanks all for clarifying. This is reassuring in two ways. Iirst, that I didnt misjudge my size (the case if I had gotten 42 and it fit) and second that Vass is on top of things.

I'll post maiden voyage pics later this week, but am already thiinking about Budapest Oxford and dm on the f last, both in oxblood with had soles.

I have F , 3636, and P2, so I can not compare F Vs. U. But many members here state that for U last you should size up 0.5 compare to F last. Tricky Vass!!.

I size down 1/2 from U to F. It feels to me that the half size difference fits me "heel to ball" the same. Even a half size larger, the U still has less toe room for me (but enough for my comfort- I find the U my best fit for my foot shape and high instep, but do have to size up by 1/2)

In most cases you size down half a size from U to F. This is the same for all my clients and myself as well.

Rezso has recommended I take a 42.5 in the P2 last and has said that they do have a narrow E width available. Does 42.5E sound about right for a 9.5B/C US? I realize the fit wont be perfect on my narrower foot, but I'm fine with that.

Hi guys, I'm new to Vass but all the photos in this thread look amazing. I'm wondering if there's any store in Chicago or LA that has RTW shoes that I could try on to determine my size / preferred last? Unfortunately I don't think I have the time to go to NYC for a while. If not, any places in Paris/nearby European cities? I'll be there for a visit in the fall.
