1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Tomir is not same thickness as leather. At TheProperKit trunk show they told me leather was 2mm slimmer than the Tomir sole. Yes I'm splitting hairs ;)

@jssdc - that is amazing makeup. Is that on double leather sole?

I have also just pulled my trigger on my 1st Vass.

Looks great! What are the defining characteristics of kangaroo leather? I know it's used on the pads of woodwind instruments. :)

High tensile strength leather, unique grain. Soft from what I hear. Upland hunting boots have been made out of this for a while.

I had to source and ship the leather myself. It wasn't a difficult process but I had to co-ordinate everything with them.

Before they went synthetic, high end football boots (soccer shoes) were made out of Kangaroo leather due to the light weight and incredible strength and durability. I dont know enough about leather to understand whether it makes good dress shoe leather, but I can still remember how much I loved getting my first pair of kangaroo boots and scrubbing and polishing them twice a week!

They're getting harder to find, but 'roo leather footwear is still out there. My current outdoor boots (Diadora) and indoor boots (Pele) are kangaroo.

Thanks gents. They're Budapest Oxfords in Oxblood on the F last with HAF soles. Wore them today and a) they're super comfortable (in contrast to my first pair of U last Vass which took weeks to stop blistering) b) definitely larger than U-last shoes, so I may consider a half size down in future, c) oddly clunky feeling when one is used to MH71/358/U.

We are truly sorry, but it turns out only now, that the
workshop has finished two of your orders in the wrong color. There is a boot in Bordeaux Cordovan as requested and two in Antique Cognac Cordovan
instead the requested whiskey. Can you please have a look on the pictures? Please let us know if you accept this colors. If not then we can make the
two whiskey colored models ready for you![IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]
