1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Question: Is the MTO service on Vass' site open the public now or is it only for returning customers? Thanks

Got a pair of Vass today in the mail. They are the antique cordovan alt weins on the 3636 last. Had a few small defects, wanted to see what you guys thought about them.

I think those minor defects are negligible. I wouldnt say they are anything out of the ordinary to be honest. I know I would scuff and scratch my shoes so I dont mind minor imperfections.

Very true. The only one that's a little annoying is the long scar looking one on the vamp. Pic number 2 in the original post. Probably not something I'd return the shoes over, and in a few wears I'll be completely over it.

I agree at first its like WTF. I have been in your boat before and then I get over and realized that it was going to happen so whatever.

Is that scar superficial? or is deep in the leather? a bit hard for me to see even in the picture.

Hmm it definitely feels like an indent so I'd imagine it's deep in the leather. I can take a brush to it, but honestly I think I'll just leave it and put some cordovan cream on it in a few months or so after some wear.

That gouge would take a while for me to forget, I'd send them back to the retailer and have them deal with it.

You know now there have been four ppl who have complained & they all paid premium price for shell. And minor stuff is under stand able but that is not acceptable at least to me if you are dishing out close to 700$

Good morning gentlmen. I received an email from Mr. Kuti this morning asking for more pics. Here are some sunny pics of the damage. Seems pretty bad now that I see it in direct sunlight.

That's a lovely shade of antique cognac shell. Makes this all the more difficult I'm sure

It definitely does make this much more difficult. I'd prefer not to return them, but paying top dollar for a pair of shoes that have a more noticeable defect then most of my AE seconds is hard to justify.
