1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

You can of course brute force it and add/subtract height. But it will not be comfortable.

    Hey all,

Can I just confirm that a RTW model found on their website is now 460 euros (up from 420)?

You can confirm price with an email to Vass.

What's the current pricing for Vass in Budapest? My mom is going there this week, and I was wondering if I should pick up a pair. Do they take out the VAT for tourists?

Yeap they do. As long as you're not from the EU. VAT free prices are 440 EU including shoe trees.

I need to make a life-changing move: size irregularities, endless waits for MTOs, unsatisfactory fit, and gambling on one new last after another...this from many makers, not just Vass. I have close to fifty pairs of shoes. Technically, they don't really fit. I suspect I'm not alone.

I'm making a rather long day trip to Budapest. Bespoke or semi-bespoke, I want my own lasts. Any advice?

Take your lead from them, Mimo - it may be that a modest alteration to an existing last will be perfect for you. If more is needed, I'm sure they will tell you.

Getting fit by Philip Car of St. C. and having a few minor alterations to an existing last resulted in the best fitting pair of shoes I own. I'm certain the result is much better than sending a bunch of measurements to a bespoke maker would be.

10th of April - get in late the night before, leave late morning the following day. I'm really hoping there's no special public holiday or anything!

Yes, that's the plan: Vass make adjustments, Rozsnyai down the street make completely to measure I believe. I intend to try both by visiting in person, and who knows what else I might find?

Well, I can only speak for myself, but as you might have seen a few pages back I went with the semi-bespoke route through Vass and I am very, very happy indeed with the result even after the first iteration.
