looks like a better fit too. did you size up .5?
You guys keep talking about wide-fitting lasts. Do you know if the F or P2 lasts are available in a narrow-fitting?
This is a wide version (G fit) on the U-last. Slim enough for my taste anyway.
Reszo just sent me some photoes! can't wait!!
I think the U last loo great in the G fitting.
wurger - thee pairs at once??? Those look great - I'd be pretty damned excited, too. 2 U-last and an F?
thanks roger, yes, and waiting on a pair of gold museums.
F looks way better than U. Biggest concern is the instep girth. Now if anyone has doubt about F last having a lower instep...
geez the U is an awesome look isn't it. good choice there
U guys are kopping hard!!
I am looking forward to pictures of them all.
Well, I think there is a bit of inconsistency in Vass in this respect.
I have a pair of F-last in F-fitting where the lacing is fully closed. I have another pair in the same size but in G-fitting where I have roughly 1 cm opening.
I also have a U-last in the same size and in G fitting where I need a thin insole to be able to lace them enough.
It is hard to find a consistent pattern...I love all my Vass so I do not meen to put them down, but inconsistency in sizing in my humble collection is a fact.
About to commission an austerity brogue but can't decide between U or F last and which leather, plum or brown museum calf. I've only ever tried the F last and am certain that I size 41.5. Currently leaning towards the U last but not confident to take a gamble on size.
Which combination of options are more aesthetically pleading to you guys?
I think the Austerity look better on U, but that's only a matter of personal taste.
With regards to sizing. I wear the same in both F and U. This was also the recommendation from Mr Vass himself (through Rezsö).
I have been fortunate in the consistency of sizing with my Vass shoes.
As to fit of the F last, I suppose I could post a pic of two Oxfords, one F one U, on each foot, point to the near identical facing gap and declare "If anyone still thinks there is any difference in fit over the instep...." Perhaps I will.
