Thanks for the info, I was afraid of the tapering being too drastic. The toe box is what I usually have trouble feeling comfortable in. I guess anything short of visiting the VASS store will not guarantee a good fit on the U last for me...

Same here. I have most problems at my little toe and toe box area fits due to the orientation of my feet; they fan outwards and most lasts are shaped inwards due to aesthetics.

U last is beautiful but very inorganic.

I don't know how the taper of the Vass U could be described as drastic in comparison to the TG73. And I say this owning both. But my perspective is not one of double-wide feet.

Yay! Finally another pair without the JR stamp on the sole! Thought mine were the only ones. Not really down with the split toes but I'm strangely drawn to these and the Osloer boot

Metal heel plates drive me absolutely bonkers, but otherwise those shoes are entirely to my liking.

I also do not like the heel plates, although I like the sound they make :embar:

Also, I am in love with those NST now, will be my next shoes (in brown suede or brown calf) :)

Pretty dangerous specially with the screws uneven on the back heel plate.
