You can either trust a random stranger or the vender.
He had the advice of the vendor. He asked for further input from random strangers. He received it. What's your problem?

I'm not trying to sell him a pair of shoes or convince him that one size is right. I'm offering an opinion based on my sizing experience with Vass and Carmina. He can take or leave it as he pleases.

From left to right. F, P2 and P2. First 2 are calf. Loafer is saddle shell.

Thanks for the details. I like the two different examples of toe stitching. I might have to give that P2 loafer style a try.

I am about to jump in on my first pair of VASS Chukkas. Reszo recommended VASS 43.5 F width on U Last. I wear 9.5UK E width G&G and Carmina 8.5UK EE width. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I wear 8UK, standard width, in Carmina Rain last and 41F and 41G in Vass F and U lasts respectively. Rezsö recommended 42 initialy but had to return since they were too large.

When sizing for Vass I found the following chart to be very helpful.

My bigger foot measures 253mm so right at the transition between EU39.5 and EU40.
I went with EU39.5 in the F last and am very happy with the fit.

P2 last loafers are generous...you may need to size down by a half more than you usually do.

Just for the record, I was in contact with Rezso today and he had now spoken to people from Ilcea and got the bankruptcy confirmed. Although themselves hope to come back in some form, neither him or I can see that happen since they gone as far as to liquidation. But we'll see. But seems like Vass are keen to expand their leather offerings outside the original ones they had for years, and they already have some alternatives to Ilcea that they will look into.

Rezso confirmed to me that they will not be receiving any more Ilcea leathers. But the good news is that they have found an alternate supplier in France. He said the new supplier is where JLP is currently sourcing some of their leather. I wonder if this is where the "misty calf" comes from or perhaps it is the "ultra calf" (examples of this ultra calf are under the "By Request" section of the website.
Thanks. Stmaier.

The third color is a deep navy blue. It appears that the new supplier has this color as well as I had a boot ordered in it.
