We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

claes500 - those shoes are a beauty. I've found myself growing more and more fond of Vass, and those are some of the best that I've seen.

Just placed my first Vass order. A pair of Old England Plain, though modified to include a brogued "cap line" (similar to C&J Belgrave), F-last, mid brown suede, single leather sole. Estimated DOA 20 March. Can't wait!

Really nice! I have two Vass shoes that i want to do, OE II in suede and a black cap toe. Both in F last i think. Just need to figure out my size and if the fit my high insteap and then i need to get back money wise after december/januari kop fest. Two pairs of GG, one EG MTO and two Carminas including the Cognac shell MTO :satisfied:

Thanks! Vass are my favourites in this price range, hard to beat at €520 full MTO incl shoe trees and shipping!

    Thanks!

    Thx!

Sounds like two great shoes Frank! The sizing can be difficult but I had great luck when I bought my first, I have 43.5 in all my Vass's (F, U and K-lasted) the F is slightly larger though but not a big issue. I normally have 9.5 E for G&G and went with 9UK for the 82 lasted shannons that should be ready in a month :slayer: Which EGs did you go for?

I too have had a big spending spree and will try not to buy any more shoes this year (or at least not delivered this year ) :)

I went for a Galway in dark oak (no grain) with double dainite sole, last 82. I have UK7.5 in EG 202 but was adviced to go with UK8 in 82, now i don´t feel so sure. In GG i wear UK8 in DG70 and TG73 and UK7.5 in GG06.

    An update on my Vass.

First of all, they are lovely.
I am really happy with my purchase and can't stress enough how great the customer service of Vass and the very kind Mr Kuti is.
Also, the F last is absolutely georgous, without a doubt the best looking last of all the shoes I own so far.

Regarding size, let me explain why I am an UK6.5 but not an EU40 in Vass.
Have a look at the following link, it's in German but the English wikipedia does not include a scale which includes foot length in mm, EU, UK and US sizes:
    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuhgröße#Erwachsenengr.C3.B6.C3.9Fen
UK6.5 ranges from mid EU40 to mid EU40.5.
Thus you need to take into consideration at least four parameters:

    • What length do your feet have?
    • Are they regular width?
    • Do they have a regular instep?
    • Are both your feet similiar in the three parameters mentioned above?

Both my feet are slightly flat, which means they have a slightly lower than regular instep and a slightly greater than regular width.
My right foot is ~256mm long and thus a very high EU40.
My left foot is only ~252mm long and thus a high EU39.5.
Paired with a greater than regular width and wearing socks I need to go up .5 in size to comfortably fit into shoes even if it means EU40.5 is slightly too long for my right foot and noticeably so for my left.
Caused by my low instep I would still suffer from too much volume in the toe box if I'd wear the shoes "plain" so I put insoles into them made by my orthopedist to account for my flat feet.
The insoles rise my instep and take away a bit of the greater than regular width.
If I had the choice I would go EU40.5 for my right and EU40 for my left foot but because shoes come in pairs EU40.5 is the correct sizing for myself.
Sure I could try to squeez into EU40 but chances are great I would suffer from pain in my right foot.
Maybe I will one day visit one of the Vass stores in person and then would be willing to try on a pair of EU40 but I will not have them produce a MTO pair in a size which is very likely not to fit myself.

One last observation, I received my pair with EU40 trees which were sitting in the shoes very loosely, no tention to the soles and leather whatsoever.
I emailed Mr. Kuti and received another green shoe box with a pair of EU41 trees only two days later.
The EU41 trees sit in the shoes the way I imagined the EU40 ones to.
I don't know if this is common but maybe one should ask for the bigger trees in .5 sizes.
I will definitely ask for EU41 trees in future orders.
I took some pictures for you to compare

Silence, here are some models from Vass I've never seen from any other maker:

    http://vass-cipo.hu/Eng/Modellek_08_Olasz/Modell_08_120_Nagy.html
    http://vass-cipo.hu/Eng/Modellek_08_Olasz/Modell_08_112_Nagy.html
    http://vass-cipo.hu/Eng/Modellek_08_Olasz/Modell_08_111_Nagy.html
    http://vass-cipo.hu/Eng/Modellek_08_Olasz/Modell_08_110_Nagy.html

However, these are all designed by Roberto Ugolini so his workshop most likely has very similar pairs available. Then again, there are so many shoemakers around the globe that unique models are hard to come by. For this you would have to bespeak a pair or buy MTO from a maker who offers heavy customization.
