1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Based on images here, it seems the OEII is perfectly suited to the F last. Any views on whether it'd work on a P2?

Their high cost base is raw material and more raw materials, mostly sourced in Euros from France for Calf, Sole from Germany and Exotic & Crocs from Italy. With exception of Shell from USA.

Luckily for us, their labour cost all in florint to the local craftsman...otherwise we be paying Lobb prices.

Their published prices all include VAT, which is 27% in Hungary, not 20, so it makes it worthwhile ensuring it's deducted where possible!

Switzerland isn't in the European Union, but IS in the European Economic Area (similar to NAFTA). Therefore VAT is still payable.

In order to deduct VAT, Vass need to provide evidence (i.e. the courier documentation) to show that the goods have been sold outside the European Economic Area.

Hard to believe they called these Old English II but they did.

These are on the K Last, but I will actually be getting them on the F Last. Figured the F Last would work better for me.

Are you sure about this - do you live in Zurich and have you received parcels from the UK/US/HK??
My items get sent to the Switzerland net of any source Tax/VAT.

Any Tax/VAT in Switzerland I deal with that myself and the courier.

Anyone have recommendations for what colour to have a pair of shoes made up in if I'm looking for a dark brown or red shoe? Leaning towards Oxblood or Dark Cognac atm, if anyone is willing to offer ideas.

Think your pair will look like this - the F last on the Old English II design.

Would you recommend giving Vass USD or exchanging it first then?

I discovered this same picture when the OEII subject was brought up.

Only difference from your picture will be the colors.

I think this Last will work just fine in those colors.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Doesn't matter,

Vass would just go next door and exchange your greenback themself after you leave....

Give them USD, Eva or Rezso would give you the exchange rate on xe.com site,
and these are stonking great wholesale fx rates.

I'm not sure the F would work for me though (and am sure the K or U wouldn't).

The P2 does, but I'm not seeing any pics here of that last with this style. Maybe that itself should tell me something.

Not quite correct. Switzerland is outside EU, so hungarian VAT is fully deductable. When importing you'll have to pay Swiss VAT which is 8 percent compared to 27 in Hungary.

    Paying any VAT is stupid.

Guys in US; HK and Singapore are laughing.

I feel for the Koreans; Japanese....

I'm loving my oxblood double-monks, and thinking of adding something in bordeaux. Guess I'm digging shades of red at present.

I do like the way they've done the borguing on this shoe.

The toe cap, and side of the shoe really go well together.
