I would go for plain. Looking at the recent Kolecho pics my reaction to many of them is 'too much going on'. Less is more - I know it's easy to be tempted by all the amazing MTO options, and to try to pack lots of features into one shoe, especially when I'm talking a 7-800 dollar shoe, I wanna get my money's worth, and mebe I've got half an eye on what kind of reaction my creation will get in a thread like this .. but in the end I ask myself 'will I be ok wearing this in just about any social situation? .. in 10 yrs time?

I agree with Less is More. Goyser looks better expressed on a PTB or the like with a simpler upper design. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with you in general, but this shoe in shell, P2, goyser 270 degrees, metal plates, natural sole edges, everything (no metal eyelets), will be my next, I will wear it proudly and I will love the excess, sometimes that is good, like a long and self indulgent guitar solo, it might be exaggeration, but it's damn good if the player is.

in the end it all depends on your location & social demography. there's still the 270 goyserer welt and vass makes a damn fine goyserer welt.

coming from someone, who could wear them every day...

well, the fact that vass struggles with the double to single tapering has been discussed several times. the cap toe discussion splits the parties. last is a personal preference either. fit + look and feel are important, imo. although the dm is mentioned in the vass book, it is a niche product and not representative for the pedigree of the austro-hungarian shoemaking tradition. it's a niche model, imo.

This shoe should have been gibson with no goyser, it makes no sense to me in balmoral.

This is New Peter last isn't it?
