    The metal taps last much longer, but you don't need them unless you really wear out the toe a lot

    I think I ordered back in November and received them in Feb. I could be off by a month or so.

    Good to know! I hate the clickety-clack of the metal flush mount toe caps.

    That is the new peter last (or p2), I love the shape both for dress and casual shoes.

    i checked some of my brogues, although derbies, they don't have it. some makers, mostly bespoke, have just a small stitch at the bottom, which adds to the charm imo.

    I use flush metal toe plates on a lot of my shoes and they are silent.
