It's true. One really has to take into account what shoes will work best with their own wardrobe. Even if shoes are fit perfectly, the wearer must feel comfortable wearing them.

Vass NST Brown Chromexcel boots on P2 after being out and about with some rain splatterings. Great stuff! Thanks Kolecho!

david, what's the raw material on them? horsehide, calf or any other?

what's in your opinion the difference to regular stuff? ...and what's the colour irl?

enjoy and wear them in good health.

I believe they are calf. They have a more oily/waxy texture than normal calf and almost feel a touch moist. They are very soft and comfortable right out of the box. If anything, they seem to fit a touch more snug than regular calf which is fine with me since the P2 is already on the slightly looser side of the F last which fits me best. The color there is fairly close to in-real-life. The derbies I have I darkened a shade last night and it took the polish really well. I'll try and post a comparison shot showing the two CXL side by side.

actually, i'm not overly worried about the parcel itself. lufty hasn't been around for a while. i hope, he is ok. that's all what counts.

    ^ For sure.

Here's a photo of the original CXL color (boot) and darkened (derby). The derby was originally a touch lighter than the boot which you can tell at the top of the tongue of the derby where I didn't touch it. I darkened it with just one layer of dark brown cream and one layer of dark brown wax. I'll likely darken it more as it really took the polish well.

I'm very intriqued by the Chromexcel leathers. I've really liked every photo of them that I've seen. It seems to have lots of life/patina right out of the gate. I presume it will age beautifully.

Agreed. The pair I already put polish on seems to be taking on a characteristic similar to old, well taken care high quality wood. Very cool.

I'm thinking 42.5, but others may pitch in.
