First of all, Vass offers several bordeaux colours ranging from bright to deep plum.

If you want a reddish brown, go with oxblood. It's a brown base with red undertones. Bordeaux is straight up red and comes in several shades. You'll have to email Vass to see the different shades. Bordeaux museum is a deep mottled plum colour. Brown museum is a mottled dark brown. Standard brown is a dark flat brown. Below are a couple of comparison shots. None including brown museum. If I hadn't stored. My bordeaux museum and brown museum I'd take pics for you. But unfortunately, they're stored in the attic.

Oxblood vs standard brown

It makes me think about ordering a pair.
It looks better with camera flash when not as dark .
Probably darker in real life.
Burgundy museum calf vass.jpg

Museum calf is a tough hard leather.
Me like the soft boxcalf much better.
Still would be nice to get some more museum calf because it looks very good.

That is not oxblood. That is bordeaux museum (plum).

Do Vass still offer oxblood??
They do. You can choose oxblood calf if you backorder a pair of shoes under the personalised color/leather option. And as I said, they have several burgundy shades as well. In the list, there's just one bordeaux option. You'll have to email them if you want a dark/mid/bright/museum bordeaux shade.

Do they send you photos of the entire palette of the bordeau shades? I emailed them to ask about it a few weeks ago, but have yet to hear back.

On another note, for those who own F-last loafers, did you have to go a full size down from your dress shoe size in AE's or CJ's? I'm a 7 UK D in Park Avenue but 40.5 was too big by 1 cm in the F-last. 40.5 corresponds to 6.5 UK.

Any experience comparing the P-last to the F-last?

As usual very satisfied with the quality put out by Vass. Their shoes just feel much more sturdy and comfortable compared to other shoes in (or above) this price range

Hi , I would like members opinions about the fit of my first MTO commission by Vass. The shoes feel great on my feet. I was just wondering about the creases on the top of the shoes. Do you think I should reduce 1 cm the width on the top of the shoes ? Thanks.

Shoes are going to crease. If they're comfortable and your foot's not moving around I wouldn't worry about it. See if after breaking in they feel loose.

The fit is acceptable.
Everything is bending in all the right places
Enjoy the relaxed fit.
