1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Do you mean the stitched U-Wing? I just asked for a U-Wing boot without specifying whether I wanted broguing or a medallion. This is actually what I was after I just forgot to tell them and it worked out. I think the technical term for the design would be an austerity U-Wing. What make up did you go with?

LOL! I have almost the identical boot, but in a cap toe, and I received them minus one eyelet too. I just had a local guy replace it and it's basically unnoticeable except to me. Obviously if Kuti hasn't shipped them, request that they fix it.

    Yeah. Austerity U-Wing. Very nice.

I went with these. Scotch grain and calf dark brown....NMWA were selling them and I was blinded but they were sold out of my size so I went to the source. This is Roger P.'s pic.

I'm not big on black but that's really nice! I love the scotchgrain lacing accents, and the toe as well. Really nice.

    Thanks.

Those aren't black though. They are dark (chocolate) brown!

    U Wing
    Red brown suede shaft
    Antic cognac upper
    Brass eyelets
    Antique Edge dressing
    Double to single sole

Mr. Kuti apologized and said he'll have to take them back to the workshop in January. Looks like Santa can't make it this year! Oh well, I probably wouldn't be able to wear them until then anyway. I am really looking forward to them though, the boots look incredible.

Its nice that you got those, especially considering Vass is no longer making Shell shoes on the Budapest last. Enjoy them!

In the lasting stage, the shoemakers has a lot of cordovan uppers break when they tried to pull it over the square toe. Perhaps due to a lesser quality of cordovan, but in any case those were too expensive mistakes to make, so Mr. Vass decided not to offer it as an option anymore.

I do wonder what would be his response with cordovan that you supply, knowing well the risk involved, or with cordovan from a different tannery (there are at least 4-5 decent options to consider).

Finally I decided to recolour my pale saddle shell shoes. My first experience with such an art (and maybe the last). Took some cordovan colour and then some dark brown cream. I forgot to recolour the tongues. OMG!!. hahaha.

No experience with the banana last, but for me the P2 is a bit roomier all around than the Budapest. The Budapest is a bit shorter (to the point of going up a half size can be a good idea for some) and more spacious in the toe box, but then gets more snug around the sides.

Interesting and sad to hear that. Glad I have them as well for many reasons!

Arrived today. A replacement for a similar pair on the F last that where sadly too narrow, these are P2 44 (G) Mid Brown Suede and fit like a glove. Sorry I cannot do the colour justice but it is exquisite. For me these are Vass just doing what they do best.
