Has anyone dropped by the Blackwatch sample sale yet? Anything exciting? I haven't gone since they stopped carrying Drake's.

Anyone have experience shipping from Nordstrom?

An item I want listed on the CA site(not available in stores) has to be shipped from the US - duties more than doubles the price.

Tried CrossBorderPickup from the US site but it won't accept a CA credit card.

Figured I'd see if anyone has a workaround...

Here's a workaround that worked for me a couple years ago. I ordered a Vitamix blender shipped to a place in North Dakota for me to pick up. My billing address in Winnipeg was causing my credit card to be refused, much like you. What you need to do is create a fake billing address based on your postal code. For example, take postal code R2G 1Y0. The first three digits of my fake zip code will start with the digits 210 from my postal code. From there, add two more digits that give you an american town, city. I just added 22 and googled that to see if it existed. It did, Brooklandville, MD. So my new billing address is my house number and street in Winnipeg, Brooklandville, MD 21022.

PM me if that's too muddled. Let us know if it works.

I always thought that the billing address had to match the true credit card address.

This worked like a charm!

I always thought the same but it looks like in this instance that they were just looking for a US billing address.

Thanks so much for the tip!

Same trick for gas pump payments in usa. Use the numerical digits of the postal code plus two zeros. J6h4h1=64100

How much did they end up charging you for all? Is it $10 shipping + $7.5 fee?

About that. I asked for no invoice in the box and we'll see if Nords shopping center follows through. If not I'll get nailed pretty hard with customs anyway.

Speaking of customs and assholes, I recently ordered a Barbour jacket from eBay and got charged import charges through their global shipping program. As far as I know, with CETA implemented, I should not be paying duties am I correct? I was just tossed around by eBay and Paypal representatives the entire time and no one would own up for a refund.
Now I'm trying to get my refunds for all of my past transactions that should be duty free under CETA.
Has anyone ever had success?

Keep us posted on that battle!

Even NAFTA exempt items get duties via GSP and that act has been around 20 years. I've always just chalked it up as a loss.

Still fighting, eBay account specialists can't do anything. I've filed letters to the higher ups and filed complaints to the past account specialists and supervisors.

For everyone, I don't know if you're on the styledemocracy website, but there's currently an event at the international center in Mississauga called the Luxury designer warehouse sale/ G-star raw sale. It ends on sunday. I've been browsing there, and most of it is crap (TONS of g-star and Superdry), HOWEVER, if you're a patient hunter, there are bargains to be found. I just made off like a bandit with a pair of Church's in my size for $60, and 2 pairs of wool Ermenegildo Zegna dress socks for $10 ea (less of a deal, but still not too bad). I saw a bunch of Boglioli suits and sport jackets as well as many Tod's and Doucal's shoes for around $60, as well as a pair of Canali shoes and a pair of boots by Maison Margiela (there was also balenciaga, prada etc... but I find those shoes don't look or feel as nice). There were some singular scattered suits/sportcoats by JPress, Sartoria Partaenopaeia, Prada, Corneliani, the italian Armani Collezioni and plenty of scattered stuff. If there are some hunters in the crowd it may or may not be worth your time.

Lost & Found started carrying Carmina late last week. $525 for shoes and $565 for boots, pre-tax. Prices are lower than Leatherfoot and Soren Custom, thanks to CETA.

If you're under Size UK 7, you're out of luck this season. However, they told me that they can perform special orders, which is great if you know your sizing and don't object to paying full price. The conditions of that I don't know, but I'd expect it to be final sale.

For those wondering: they also carry Alden, White's and Viberg.
