Did anybody go to the CNE this year?

I skipped it this year; have gone maybe twice in four years but didn't go for several years before that. It has lost much of its appeal to me over the years. It had more appeal when I was a child but even then, I spent more time in Ontario Place's water park than on the Exhibition grounds.

I go almost every year. Just entertainment, especially the product demonstrations.

Plus I can buy Renapur for cheap. It's a good conditioner for winter boots.

There is also a leather guy who sells Canadian made leather belts. Have 5 from him, and I would say quality is great for $55. One belt is over 15 years old.

Are they in the Direct Energy Centre? (I know the name has changed, but I don't feel bothered to look it up!)

The back parts of that building (where they have the displays of the planes) are always so damn hot. Last time I went, my friends wanted to venture in there and I opted to wander outside.

The belt guy? In the Arts and Craft building. Same spot for years.

Renapur is usually Direct Energy Centre.

Hey guys,

Holts on Bloor now sells Eidos. It's the new Simon Spurr stuff, not Antonio's collection. That said, they did have one SC that was full canvas and made by Isaia, which owns the Michelangelo factory that manufactures it. Mostly casual wear at Holts.

Anyone here shop at PACE?

They're located at Brookfield place. I work in the same building but never see anyone in there.

I've poked around there a few times. I once bought a pair of Chelsea boots on their sale table. That's it. Seems like they have decent wares, but nothing that stands out as unique from the other options in the city.

Sigh, OF COURSE somebody brings Eidos to Toronto when @NickPollica isn't involved in the production. I remember feeling let down when Saks and Nordstrom opened up, yet didn't carry the brand.

Regardless, I am curious to see how Holt's buy is. As much as people are hesitant on Eidos with Antonio not being involved on the production, I reserve judgement until I see or try things on in person.

I’ve said this many times, but the only product made “by Isaia” is Isaia. Eidos, along with every other private label brand people think is made by Isaia is produced at Michelangelo, their secondary factory in Frosinone. They just use the same tags. Quality is the same as it was when I worked there.

Hey Antonio,

When I mentioned Isaia, I was referring to the company, not the factory. Trust me, I've been following your posts on this issue! I'll edit and correct for completion sake.

I only recall Harry Rosen carrying RRL before, but I'm pretty sure they dropped it a couple of years ago.

Not sure if this is new, or I just never signed up before.

But taxes and duties notification by email and on the CP tracking screen is a nice feature.

No more duties roulette.
