Personally I don't love it because I start to wonder is it the *exact* same shoe or not? In other words, are Edward Green for Louis Boston made to the exact same quality as EG?
I assume yes, but I always wonder.

Thanks CanadaCal. The authenticity factor and the good relationship factor as @Jaackytung mentioned are good points
This is true but I guess this only applies to shoe makers that have multiple lines. but then again, in the world of manufacturing who's to say that they are all made with the same exact quality.

Maybe have it as an option by default but allow people to opt out of it on MTOs?

I'd never heard of Northern Watters before. Do you have any of their pieces? I'll be in Charlottetown soon and may check them out.

I do, I own two of their VC1 cardigans which I got through Epaulet last year with 3 more currently on the way. There are lots of details on them in the Epaulet affiliate thread if you search for "Heirloom" which is Epaulet's name for the cardigan. They posted a ton of pictures here: https:[email protected]/epaulet-by-northern-watters-sweater-pre-order-efe7b687cc41 of the various types of sweaters and yarns. I love the cardigans I own, they are super warm and incrediby heavy. Some of the heaviest sweaters I own, I really love them. Plus its nice to own something made in Canada, as opposed to the states or europe where we get most of our stuff from.

Interesting stuff--thanks for the feedback and the link. Sounds like I'll have to drop into the shop while I'm down east. The made-in-Canada aspect does appeal and I was wondering how these would compare to some of the stock at the Irish Design House in Leslieville.

Can the customer's name be used instead? I think this would be a cool feature.

    And the renaissance begins.

I wonder if they'll get any of their $2000 boots in. *sigh*

It'd be cooler if I could get a shoe with a medallion that was a likeness of me.

Anyone know if they have any boots? I am craving a Galway, but don't want to put up with EG's unknowable production times and importing would likely yield no net savings.
