Some place in the Beaches called the Pony Club showed up on my IG feed. I’m sure I’ve spotted it before but never dared to enter. It looks...intriguing. Does anyone know what the deal is (i.e. what brands they carry). They don’t appear to have a website.

Based on Yelp, they appear to carry ~$200 Ted Baker shirts post tax and Alberto trousers. Make your own conclusions ;)

Sigh. (We don't have enough info but I can't help but think that it's yet another store that carries Alberto/AG/Brax/John Varvatos/etc.) I wish there were more Toronto CM-esque menswear stores whose brand selection doesn't closely mimic Harry Rosen.

I dream of the day that we have a Canadian Camoshita stockist, let alone a local one. I'd even buy a piece or two at full price or a nominal mid-season discount (15-20%), assuming I liked the piece enough.

We have a few, but they're more like small boutiques and tailors. Most well-dressed Torontonians, in my experience, are either wearing designer, vintage, or clothes from trips to Europe.

Hi fellow Toronto/GTA folks,

I am selling new Suitsupply *slim fit* shirts in sizes 14.5R (37) and 15R (38).

They typically cost 109-139 CAD + tax but letting them go for the price I purchased from the outlet. (40-55 CAD each plus shipping or local pick up if you are in downtown Toronto).

Please DM me if you are interested. :bigstar:

Also, Happy New Year's Eve, everyone. Hope we all stay healthy and get to enjoy more of our outfits in 2021.

Has anyone purchased pants made by Alberto or Echizenya before? Seems like HR also sells Alberto.

I have bought several pairs of Alberto pants from Channer's in Waterloo, and similar material AG pants from San Francisco Nordstrom and Zegna from HR on Bloor. This is not shopping mall quality construction or synthetic material. They're not a replacement for wool dress pants, but they fill a role in higher level non-denim casual and are really good value.

This is a great description. I have a pair of Alberto jeans and want to get their casual pants.

Harry Rosen doing up to 70% off suits, jackets, and ties and accessories.
And it looks like the "up to 70" is no marketing ploy either. There's actually a ton of good quality stuff at 70% off...
Might snag a few things myself..

Apparently Isaia is planning to open a store in Yorkville in Spring 2021

.

With Harrys doing 70% off sales and back to office dates getting more and more distant it seems like quite an awkward time to be opening a high end brand known for its suiting. They seem to be sticking to the spring date for now though.

it may be run by Harry Rosen. The Zegna store on Bloor is a joint venture with Harry Rosen and Zegna.

Either way, Isaia is a great brand. Glad it’s coming to Toronto.

Oh no, they're making a good move IMO. Everyone is going to be itching to get out and have a good time at some point this year, and their competition is being strangled.

The stores that are doing the worst right now are those who built their reputation and stock around office-wear. So no one wants to go to Harrys or Brooks Brothers and buy yet another work suit. But a fun suit? Maybe vintage, or something suitable for a party? That's where the opportunity is.

Mind you, they may have to operate at a loss for a bit.

I’m sure there are some social circles where wearing casuals suits or tailored clothing isn’t unusual (I don’t run in these circles myself). But I have to wonder if there are really enough people in these situations to allow stores like this to flourish without selling clothes people wear to work.

I’m sure most people will be up for a good social time when the pandemic restrictions loosen, but for how many does this mean wearing a sportcoat? Some...but not everyone.
