Does anybody know of a good tailor in Etobicoke or even Mississauga?
West End Toronto, too
I went to my local place, who i've gone to many times and do good work, but their pricing is getting atrocious and long wait times.

I have an unfortunate crotch hole in a pair of my pants, so i went to get a quote.
They quoted me (preface: not a typo)
.....
....
$175

I also have a new sports coat where i need the sleeves finished. They don't do button holes anymore, and if i just wanted the buttons affixed it would be $30 and a 4 week turnaround time.

I wasn't going in with the mindset of adding surgeon cuffs to begin with, but at the same time don't want to pay $30 for buttons and wait 4 weeks. And the pants, well.....:s

I would also be interested in this. My pair of Spier & Mackay cream fresco trousers need a new lining but of my two usual tailors, one wouldn't do it and the other quoted $150.

Wasn't Spier and Mackay offering to do it (with a charge)?

Instead of a lining your trousers, buy light (cream) boxers and you're set

Did Rob get the metal toe plates yet?
They're still on order. Something to do with Trump and NAFTA I guess. But it was also delayed because Rob was waiting for all the sizes of plates. I asked him and he said it looks like late next week. He also gave me the prices: $50 for the plates and $100 for plates with half vibram sole. He'll also usually bundle prices if you need heels done or other work.

Speaking about Rob. do any of you have experience with him on resoling?

Thinking about bring him a pair of old JL, wanted to enlarge the toe box a bit, refurbish the suede surface, fix some damage in the lining.

I took a quick look of some of his work, seem okay but not amazing work, not sure how's his experience in handling fix like this.

Thoughts on wearing a double breasted suit to work? For context I'm a junior/mid-level lawyer on Bay Street and the suit is a fairly conservative navy all-season DB.

I've just kept an eye out and haven't seen anyone under 50 wear one at all. Wondering if I should just put this away until I'm more senior or for a wedding.

I don’t see any problem with DB.

BTW, since the new USMCA hasn’t been implemented yet. Will I be charged for duties for clothing made in US?

I work in AM and wouldn’t wear a DB.

If I was in law or IB, I definitely wouldn’t wear a DB unless I was Partner or MD

Put it away

Strange, I work in commercial real estate and I've seen one guy (young) wear a DB suit. No one has said nada

But most of the guys are normally in whilte shirts. I think they're just lazy and don't put a huge amount of effort into thinking about what they will wear the day of
