Sometimes I wonder how he's still able to go around different brands with such reputation
Isn't his story that he has a good reputation?

Like anything, you'll hear mixed things. If you look him up on this thread (or was it the SS thread?), you'll see some pretty harsh criticism of him.

understood!Looking back, I didn’t come across anything particularly upsetting other than the scathing review that was brought to my attention on yelp. To be fair, that review was a combination of in-store misunderstandings, exaggerated criticisms and often misleading or downright slander.
I hope SF can understand that with the volume of customers encountered on a daily basis, an overwhelming majority are happy with the professionalism and courtesy I extend, but as you mentioned, there will always be the small portion of people that you cannot satisfy. I find - just like in any other industry - these are the people who are often the most vocal.
However, I always welcome fellow SFers to swing by and have a chat over anything menswear, it is always a pleasant surprise to meet other tailoring enthusiasts who share an interest in mens clothing

Where do you work now?
Oh yeah, for sure. I think I've only spoken to you briefly once or twice in store but it was always a pleasant experience. I've always had good experience with the SS staff. Haven't been in lately though but I definitely have positive feelings towards the brands and its staff in Toronto. I used to work in customer service too so I 100% understand what you're trying to say, mate.
Best of luck to you in your new ventures! If I ever drop by Gucci, I would definitely love to chat about menswear and possibly pick your brain
I would be very interested to hear about Gucci's MTM program. I know that Zegna makes the suits, but can you enlighten us on canvassing, cuts/models, options, etc...? And what's the price range. I'm actually considering an MTM in the near future and would be very interested to hear about Gucci's offerings.
I was offered the position to become the National Director for Gucci’s “DIY” program for Canada. This encompasses tailoring for both men and women, denim, and outerwear including silks, denim and leathers. Essentially anything you can wear, Gucci can make, the program is quite extensive. It also includes leather goods, and footwear. I was surprised to find out that Gucci’s shoe program is still produced in-house which allows us to do bespoke shoe fittings with personal lasts as well.
That’s awesome to hear, the store has undergone some changes over the years but they still do provide a value that is hard to overlook, especially in Toronto.
Also many thanks for the kind wishes, feel free to drop by, it’d be great to speak to a fellow SFer
You are 100% correct! Made by Zegna along with our RTW. Only our MTM is always full canvas, with hand finishing across multiple points on the jacket (bar tacks, collar, silk lining has hand rolled edges like you would find on a pocket square/tie at the hem of the jacket which is something I’ve never seen on other MTM jackets, and the signature milanese buttonhole that Tom Ford popularized while he was with the brand).
There are 6 different day suiting cuts, ranging from classically sartorial to fashionably short/skinny (also 2 sport jacket cuts, and multiple evening/formal cuts that are based off our day tailoring). I personally enjoy the “Heritage” model. It pays homage to classic tailoring with a lower gorge, slightly wider lapels, and a button stance that sits lower as well.
Price is going to start at 4.5k. Now I understand most of SF will scoff at that price point since the typical response is “Id go bespoke at that price”. But considering that Gucci’s program is made to Zegna couture standards in Switzerland, with full silk linings in both the jacket and curtain of the trouser, it’s not a bad value to those who want to wear the brand. We also can’t ignore the fact that Gucci at the current moment is enjoying incredible brand power, something that I could care less for though
$4500CAD isn't that bad. Less than Tom Ford, slightly more than zegna mainline. Thanks for the info. I'll stop by and take a look myself.
Does Gucci do MTM events?
