1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

To clarify, BB isn't Bjorn Borg, it's Brooks Brothers.

Nice find! Was that at an outlet somewhere? Or the one near Union Station?

I could be wrong but I think they had a 38. Best to call the store and check since it has been 2 days already and I'm not sure if the promotion still in effect.

PSA: At the College Park Winners in the men's clearance sport coat section, there is a unlined linen Faconnable blazer size 42 marked down to $50. They also have 4-5 Corneliani ID unstructured jackets in wool blend for $150, saw a couple size 40s, maybe a couple 38s and a 46.

    ^ Solid colour Corneliani?

Thanks to everyone who provided recommendations on cobblers, I'll give Nick's a try.

I'm also thinking of switching tailors. I would typically use Paul's Alteration since it's relatively close, but lately I've been unhappy with his finishing and sloppy execution.

I have not used Creeds, but thought I would share a couple tips regarding Toronto dry cleaners which I have experienced.

    1. I use Ace Kelly for my everyday drycleaning, for two reasons; a) they hand finish my french cuffs at no extra charge and use those french cuff plastic plugs. I can't tell you how annoying it was when other places, close to my house, would just leave the damn French cuffs hanging there. I guess they expected me to iron my own shirts when I got them home! ;); and b) they do a good job on my shirts. I recently experimented with another local place, and the shirts came back wrinkled, with the explanation that the cotton cloth was 'too high quality' to be properly ironed in their machine.

    2. When I order suits from overseas, I get them hand pressed. I went to Ashford Cleaners, which is well regarded, and asked about hand-pressing and they looked at me like I was from another planet. So I found Couture Cleaners. They picked up and dropped off my suits, and they did a bang up job with hand pressing.

I popped in on my way home. There were a few different colours blue/green/tan. Wool and cashmere blend if I remember correctly. Mostly 42 and 40. No 38s. At least one of them was a mainline Corneliani $150. The rest were CC Corneliani $50.

Feeling defeated I decided to check out Winners in Bloor. The real prize there was a rack of Dent's leather gloves for $50 each. L and XL and one M.

Surprised that I've never heard of Francesco Sr. His work looks great! what do prices for a standard 2-piece start at (regular, not for the auction)?

Creeds did a top-notch job including free delivery. Takes AMEX. Nice coffee lounge in there. But...$8 a shirt! Ouch. I think really this is a suit or special garment spot.

If anyone has stopped into Saks recently, they have marked down 50-60% of their Isaia selection by 40%.
