I've had them on and they look and feel pretty good. But I don't generally wear shoes I make for myself until they've been on the shelf for a while for potential customers to see.

As I said, I learned a lot from these shoes...and that's the glamour shot. :cool2:

Not to worry...eventually. I'm still looking at them. Thinking a flat lace might be better.

We are very proud to announce the first World Championships in Shoemaking, organised by Shoegazing and The Shoe Snob, in collaboration with Kirby Allison’s Hanger Project. The final takes place during the London Super Trunk Show on April 7 2018. In the prize pool is £6,000 (€6,700 / $8,000), plus all podium placed shoes will be exhibited at the Isetan Men's department store in Tokyo, and at other stores in various locations around the world. One fully handmade black cap toe oxford with single leather sole is to be made, and the criteria that will be judged are the degree of difficulty and the execution of the making, but also the overall design/aesthetics. We hope that both large, well-established firms and lesser-known one man operations will participate. Read all about the World Championships in Shoemaking, and how to enter, here. And please spread the word!

Cross post from Japanese shoes thread: Received my fourth bespoke pair from Yohei Fukuda. An adelaide model he has made for previous bespoke customers which I really loved, and managed to find the perfect brown leather for it, IMO. Fit is really good, and think they look amazing. A bunch of pics (more can be found on my blog):

Thanks! The leather is really amazing. I don't remember what it was, will have to ask Yohei. I will likely order more shoes in this.

^ Kangaroo and Java lizard. Made some time ago for a woman...don't really remember the circumstances.Looks like someone spilled oil on the toes.

Occasionally I run across my work on Ebay...or recently, in a local antique store. I remembered those--fellow died and I guess they were just part of an estate sale.

Cross post from the Japan shoes thread: Received my first pair from Main d'Or/Eiji Murata a while back, now have summarised the whole process in a large post on my blog, including lots of pics from the making. Way too much to show here, but share some pics that Eiji took of during the making and some I took of the finished shoes. I had very high expectations on these shoes, I am very pleased those were fulfilled, truly great shoes that fit really well.

    First some making pictures:
