Kent, in time you'll realize that having pants with thinner legs and shorter (or even no) break is the signature of a shoe freak --- with pants like that you see more of your own shoes when walking. I have a pair of Oxxford pants that are classically tailored: a little flair and decent break; the problem is, it covers almost half my shoes and that bothers me quite a bit. I haven't worn them in a long time.

I also do not like the modern narrow legged trouser. Â Ralph Lauren store told me that every RLPL model this season will be flat front and not "full." Â I simply do not like them. Â I like a double pleated, full trouser. Â BTW, I also like shoes. Â [IMG]

I think that is a bad business move. Many RLPL customers are middle-aged guys who would look ridiculous in slim-cut flat front trousers.

I prefer the 1920's trouser cut.

What would that be? Do you have any woodblocks or illustrated panels to demonstrate this look for us?

Whoa... Flat front for fall 2005? They were all flat front for spring/summer.... and I couldn't get my thighs into them. Please tell me you were talking about spring/summer. Please.

Well, I don't really mean that extreme. Pants from Neapolitan tailors are generally slim-legged anyway --- but never tight like those on RLPL. I don't really like flat front pants, especially from RTW, as they are so difficult to fit.

RLPL suit trousers have never been particularly narrow, at least until spring/summer this year.

Do you mean the separate trousers?

I think he was refering to all the suit trousers in the fall line. I almost bought one of their "sale" suits in the summer sale: two-button, peaked lapel... until I tried on the trousers. He said that all the "new season's" suit trousers were flat front.

How tragic is it that we lost all of that great shoe porn from the last 6 months? Wasn't this thread like 25 pages long? I think I downloaded some of it, so I'll try to post some if I have it.
