Recently I discovered Podrunner, which I recommend to anyone who's into biking or running. I don't ordinarily listen to much house, garage, farm, church, or any other genre named after an enclosed space; but for cardio workouts Podrunner is great stuff. I'm developing a bit of a taste for it off the bike too but my tolerance still isn't very high. EDIT: Although on second thought I'm really enjoying the progressive house of the second half of "Running to Elysium."

I don't know very much about the particulars of this genre either, although I like the downtempo, lush-beats, elctrolounge, chill-out, etc. I've enjoyed Kraak & Smaak, Ulrich Schnauss, the ESL stable of DJs, and the labels Nightmares On Wax and Naked. I hear a lot of this on the online stream of KCRW, the Santa Monica public station, which is hip and tasteful at the same time. Try the shows Metropolis (which is on weeknights on both the live broadcast stream and the 24-hour online feed) and The Drop, which is on Saturday night. The most recent shows of both are archived. I hear they have podcasts on iTunes also, although I haven't checked.

Anyone like UK garage/2-step? It was around for like a year or two and then got depressed and turned into dubstep or something.

I miss MJ Cole.

Some good thoughts in this previous thread
http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=19353

I was a big fan of House music (Chicago founders, then the Francois K/Body & Soul era and the Paris/Respect movement). Dancing to a set by Paul Johnson, Robert Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Mark Farina, Masters at Work, etc... is just awesome.

I've been heavily into the electronic music scene for the past 15-20 years. I'm not much of a fan of trance, house, or straight-up techno; my tastes lean more toward electro, IDM, drum and bass, and experimental techno. Some of my favorite artists:

Aphex Twin
Plaid
Dopplereffekt
Adult.
Cylob
Boards of Canada
Aux 88
D'Arcangelo
Fischerspooner
Jega
Solvent
Squarepusher
DMX Krew
Justice
Cut Copy
Dom & Roland
