The 'traditional' closet?

Does anyone know what is the proper way to store clothes in your closet? Shirts/jackets are obviously hung on hangers but what are you suppose to do with pocket squares, ties, socks? Are pants suppose to be folded in a shelf or should they also be hung on special hangers? Of course it is easy here to improvise but I want to know the the 'right' way to organize my closet.

I dont think there is any "right" way, but there are some rules you must work around, never hang sweaters, if you hang pants never on the hangers they clip too, etc.
For pocket squares just get a nice little box, somewhat decorative, and place them all in that. Doesnt even need to be in your closet then. Socks and underwear have always been jumbled together for me, but to each their own.

I use an extra shoe bag to store my squares,
a wooden cufflink box for my links,
leather watch box for my watches,
large leather box where my ties sleep rolled,
suits & scs on wide-shouldered hangers,
dress shirts pressed & hung on wooden hangers,
summer suits in garment bags & hung,
trousers hung on wooden hangers,
cotton & linen pants folded on shelf,
sweaters folded on shelf,
belts looped & hung,
shoes in boxes on shelf.​
