Hello again!

"Trad"... I think that by now we all know what "Trad" is...

But let me offer you this;

http://www.filmnoirbuff.com/forum/viewforum.php?id=13

Only one day old, but this forum hopes to fill in the gaps that "Trad" leaves behind.

Not an alternative to "Trad", but something to flesh out that big picture of Classic Traditional American style in all its messy complexity.

- Yes, there will be jeans.

... And we also have a thing called 'Wangkerchief of the Week'.

Worth a look?

Come for the Wangkerchiefs & stay for the 'Ivy' style!

God Bless you all -

Russ.

Socklessness is interesting as it comes to us from WASP resort wear and sailing via Preppy into "Trad".
It's one of those 'What the Hell' touches, as Patrick would say.

I don't want to derail this thread (can a motionless locomotive derail?) but I reckon you missed this thread about socklessness. Therein you will find the full text of a NY Times article from the late 1960s that examines the Ivy League phenomenon of sock omission.

Many thanks - I'll pop it on my little forum & give you full credit.

Cheers!

Russ.

... Well... It's FNB's forum really, but I'm kinda pleased with it...
