Haha yeah, this is essentially dressing room fit so I didn't put too much effort centering and making sure my bowtie is straight. The tag is still on the jacket and the shirt. I would love to see you in a jacket that's 1.6" longer (ie, the L instead of R.) Yes, having a huge unhemmed pile can affect how the fabric drapes, but usually not all the way at your thighs, which I bet can benefit from the change from Slim to Contemporary as well.
Honestly though, with a bit of tailoring, I think the R in Slim would work okay. It wouldn't be my "perfect tux" but especially with a little bit of wearing it, it'll be good enough for you ... wedding? Party? Whatever it is. When you do it, just make sure your studs are centered and your tux button is centered
