    Hi,

I would greatly appreciate some comments on this jacket. (preferably about the length of it)

It is a Polo Ralph Lauren, Yale sports coat, basket weave.

Will wear this as an everyday jacket with pretty much everything (jeans, chinos, tie/no tie etc)

I know the sleeves are a bit short, but theres excess material for that.

I am thinking about the overall length of the jacket. It does not quite reach the knuckles (which classic menswear would suggest), but fashion seem to prefer shorter jackets now as most jackets I tried fit like this one.

If not considering classic menswear fit, but just fit in general and how it looks, how is the length? (I believe shorter jackets look good in general but im pretty long, 193cm, 6.33 ft)

    Thanks in advance!

^ Way too short, by any standards. Looks like a women's jacket. Once you lengthen the sleeves, they will be almost even with the length of the body... not a good look.

Theres a slight angle on the first picture that might make it look a little shorter that it is.

Anyway, I've tried at least 20 jackets and all but one is exactly the length of this one (fashion seem to like em that way right now).
If we don't consider "classic fit", just how it looks, would you still say its too short? Because if so then the jacket would be too short on pretty much everyone?

    Thanks for replying btw!

Yes. I'd say you need another 1" at least for it to look okay, and even then, it would still be in the "fashion" category.

No. I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion. You do realize that people are different heights, right? You're 6'4"--that is well above average height, no matter what part of the world you're in. Does the jacket come in long sizes? If so, problem solved.

Okay you might be right, im 6.33 but i guess that doesnt really matter.

You cant length the jacket like you do with sleeves right?

So far I have only found it in long on the ralph lauren webpage, but they dont ship to sweden :/ If anyone knows a store that have it and do ship to sweden please let me know.

    Thank you

I recently purchased a suit supply la spalla in size 42R, which may be too big. I have a Washington, soho and san diego - all of which fit perfectly in 42R, but I'm unsure on this jacket, does it appear I need to size down? The online measurements for the other jackets show their shoulders are marginally wider, but that the chests are smaller than the la spalla.

    Hello all,

I am newb here, 25 year old medical student looking to build a wardrobe. I recently purchased an MTM dress shirt and an OTR blazer. I was wondering if you could give me some feedback on the fit. I am 5'5 and stocky so most of my clothes make me look boxy if I don't get them tailored correctly.

The jacket has some obvious divots/ripples in the shoulder area, and I know that is usually the most difficult area to deal with.

The shirt feels good around the body area but I'm thinking the sleeves could be worked with.

    Thanks in advance.

not a tailor, but I think you have a very low right shoulder (or perhaps even some spine curvature?)--hence the creasing on the right side below the right armpit and on the right back, as well as the sleeve length difference between left and right. Maybe a pad under the right shoulder would be enough to correct it but it seems like a big difference to me; I'll leave it to the actual tailors to weigh in.

The jacket seems to be okay in the shoulders and chest to me, but the sleeves are too short (especially as they have working buttons) and the body may be a bit short too, but it's hard to tell because we can't see the bottom of the jacket in relationship to your hands and seat. Maybe a 42L??

    Sent it to the tailor
    sleeves .75" shorter
take out jacket sides by .4" on each side
Slim the pants from knees and down a bit...they're currently 9.5" over the hem, which is too wide for my taste.

Despos/Any other knowledgeable members....do you have any estimates of how many inches you would change any visual miscues you see? I contacted Indochino and they said to send them pictures (got them) and to measure how much alterations would be needed. I'm really not sure how to measure (on the garment) how much extra/less fit i need (ie shoulders, chest, etc)....

    Any thoughts? Thanks again!

    Fabric /dry cleaning question:

I didn't know which thread to ask it in, so perhaps you guys can provide the best guidance. What is the consensus on sending silk ties to the dry cleaner to get dycleaned? Does it really ruin the finish? Am I better off soaking the tie in woolite and havig the dry cleaner press the tie? Thanks in advance. Salad dressing stain, btw.

New suit, new tailor, so I'm very appreciative of some feedback. How do you guys think I did with this one? I think i need to tweak a few things in the shoulder and armhole. Thoughts?

What do you guys think of the button stance and the hight of the pockets? Too low or just right?

Hello All. My navy Ralph Lauren Black Label suit just came in and I was hoping to get some advice from the experts. Any alteration suggestions would be appreciated.

The pants came unhemmed and I know the length will have to be adjusted (I taped them up for this picture). I have broad shoulders and I'm not sure if these suits just have too much padding for my body type. Wouldn't be opposed to returning this if it's just not the right cut for me. Thanks a lot in advance.

This is true. I'm only 5'11" and I need to buy a long jacket on a lot of the newer cuts. I can only imagine how short some jackets would be if I were 6'33"!

Hey guys. I recently picked up this cashmere(zegna) sport coat and thought it might be worth tailoring since I'd like to incorporate it into my outfits. As I'm fairly new to suits and menswear in general so I was hoping to get some opinions on how much work would need to be done to get a proper fit. I threw it all on fairly quickly in order to catch my sister before she left the house, but hopefully the sloppiness won't hinder your ability to read the fit.

I'm 6'3" and slim. It seems quite loose in the chest and waist, but the shoulders *feel* alright. Anyone have any ideas on where to start?
