At the end of the day, one of the most popular topics on this forum is tailoring: what is good tailoring, tailor recommendations, and a bit of bragging about what bespoke suit you just got in.

Peter Johnson MTM

Peter Johnson is an Australian tailor (and tailoring company, really) that offers wellmade suits at a variety of price-points and production schemes, including some excellent made-to-measure and bespoke options. It's difficult to find local tailoring talent outside of Western Europe and the main American cities, and it's good to see that our Australian members have more choices than flying to Hong Kong or Seoul for work, or paying inflated fees for visiting tailors traveling abroad. Although, to be fair, Australia is a hell of a lot closer to Japan and the Far East than most other places...

Maomao's Italian Adventure

This thread is one of the best on StyleForum - and an example of a type of thread we don't see that often lately - the tailoring travelogue. Too cool. Maomao is a poster with exquisite taste in clothing and apparently the budget - and time - to sample some of the best tailors and shoemakers in the world. Originally started in 2012, this thread features both the commissioning of bespoke clothing, as well as their arrival (and - really - the best part) the excellent followup. Check it out.

Post Anderson & Sheppard

Years ago Anderson & Sheppard was one of the world's best tailors, and a perennial pick from Savile Row, but in an age where High Street and the Row are slowly merging, and tailors are fleeing to greener pastures (and setting up their own outfits with lower prices and smaller rent payments...) this thread is a catalogue of places to get a similar look to A&S from former cutters. It also features actual picks of the clothes and little infighting and bullshit, so, bonus!

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
