The tailor took my jacket in too much?

Hi, I took my suit jacket for alteration. The alter person tapered the jacket for me, but the length between the flap pocket and the seams is a little close. I measured, and there is about 1.5" distance from the end of the flap to the waist line seam. Is this an acceptable length? or the pocket got pulled back too much?

Hard to give advice without pics.

I don't have camera available.
I tried to draw the back of the jacket. As you can see, there is flap pocket that is a little bit pulled to the back, about 1". Is this acceptable?

Here, edited for better (I think) illustration.

Side pockets shouldn't be visible from the back.

That not be ideal, but the only other option is to not take it in as much, which is hardly ideal either if the coat is too big. Maybe you should just buy a smaller size in future (or one with larger drop, if that's the issue; possibly MTM if you have a particularly large drop).

is the tapering the way you want it done? If so, that's just the way it is with altering a finished garment. You can only taper on the side seams and that will reduce the space between the pocket and the seam, especially on smaller sizes.
