All hall of fame artists in my book. You could spend days listening just to any one of them.

p.s. there's a good compilation of live Ahmad Jamal Trio shoes 58-64 or something like that. Recommended!

p.p.s. trivia side note: did you know the typeface used on that Poinciana sleeve is the same used for Moon Boots? Designed by Stanley Davis in 1965.

Huh, I didn't know that.

I saw Ahmad Jamal once at Yoshi's. One of my favorite jazz shows.

I don’t know if I’ve seen enough concerts to have a top five, but in terms of ear-crushing loudness, there is a top two:

1. Built to Spill
2. Rainer Maria

Hilarity factor:

1. David Lee Roth (‘84-ish)
2. Vanilla Ice (‘90)

Biggest disappointments:

1. Depeche Mode (‘94). Dave Gahan with long hair. Shaking his ass, whipping no one into a sexual frenzy.

2. Coolio (‘97). Said, What?, what? over a background tape.

3. David Alan Coe (‘95). Hit on my date.

A mix of different stuff. Some soul, a bit of hardheaded woman folk, and two very different takes on a summertime classic.

Looks like Junior Brown playing double neck guitar on the Wanda Jackson video

Do you listen to Ray Bryant? He has solo work and plays with a lot of great artists.
His band backed up Aretha Franklin on her first LP when she was 17
