No band is more strongly associated with memories of my early high school years...

In fact, two guys (the Minardi brothers) from a local Laguna band ended up as members of General Public.

Wow now I've gone on a google dive and found a picture of one of their records. The band was called "The Basics" and they played at lot of local things when I was still a bit too young to attend but they did play my 6th grade dance. http://marcoonthebass.blogspot.com/2009/11/exclusive-interview-with-mario-minardi.html

Baron,
Your post resonated with me. Did a youtube dive for bands from home town late '60s-70's.

Discovered this;
www.garage-rock-radio.com

Found recordings and videos of The Olivers form Ft Wayne, IN. Favorite local band, saw them so many times. Their music surprisingly held up

My favorite local band during junior high school years; The Olivers, Fort Wayne, IN 1966. Both sides of their 45

^ love that. Madonna has a knack for taking whatever's in the air and making her own likeable version of it. I've been a fan since the 80s.

on another note, feel free to officially kick me out of this thread. I've been on a George Benson tear. It's like what all jam bands really want to be but they're not cool enough— plus bell bottom suits.

Never was a fan of Dance Gavin Dance despite being a huge fan of a few of their peers. But I've been really enjoying this one. Sounds like the sequel to One Wing that The Chariot never wrote.
