not sure it's what you're looking for exactly but stuff from UK label Rhythm Section Intl maybe?

Thanks man! Those are all pretty good. That String Theory is close. I dunno really what I'm looking for, I think it's really about live instruments and vocals with house (really, disco) beats. Definitely something danceable. Not too lounge-y.

These are in the range, but more electronic. Maybe something with more natural disco, gospel feel.

Also good live performance filmed in retina-searing 8K or something. I don't think I'm ready for the future.

Been bingeing hard on this Machine Girl album the last few days. Think Death Grips with the intensity of Money Store and the variety of Jenny Death:



I was pretty unimpressed with DG's 2018 record, and this makes it seem even worse by comparison.
