Have you heard Roscoe Holcomb? He did one of the original versions of "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow," which was featured on that soundtrack. I was really into him for a while before I slipped into listening to the same rap songs over and over again.

Turn the sound down, as his voice can be very high pitched. But I'm including a couple of tracks here.

i have not, but thanks i like this version a lot more than the OST version (which was the main reason i chose to omit it from my post, i just don't like that version of the song very much), holcomb's version has a much different feel to it. though i get why Burnett chose to redo a lot of the songs he selected for movie.

between this album and sturgill's "cuttin' grass" i think are great accessible gateways to bluegrass / americana. certainly makes me want to look deeper.
