christine and the queens covered "i'm on fire"

which is an excellent reminder to revisit the "la vita nuova" ep

ETA: holy crap this ep was released in march, which feels exactly 3 weeks ago and 2 years ago.

"lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven" is 20 years old. time to get lost in this album all over again.

thx man I'd never heard them. I'm not a fan of using crescendo for cheap emotional effect, but their "symphonic crustpunk" approach seems more authentic. very cool. btw. the other show that writer mentions in the review is Luna. they just did a nice cover of Television marquee moon.

oh man GY!BE is really awesome music. i agree you, the calm, LOUD, calm formula can cheapened if overused but their music has such a range of emotion that when those parts come they feel really genuine.

"lift your tiny fists..." is i think their best album, but if you want to start at the beginning "F#A# infinity" is also a stone cold classic. much different vibe though, one of those where the album cover really encapsulates the mood.

and thanks for that, i will listening to any cover of marquee moon, this is really good.
