ITT we talk about how Rush is the greatest band ever.
If this thread is going to be full of rap I quit
For those that are in to this music (and I totally am), The Soft Moon's new album is streaming here:
Been digging this one lately
It's kinda funny that you say that and then post a song that's pretty closely related to instrumental hip-hop. In the same vein, you'd probably like a lot of the stuff on the brainfeeder label:
Also this guy:
And Four Tet, Burial, etc but I feel like you probably know of those guys. Lemme know if you want more.
So you started to let your hair grow.
Spent big bucks on your wardrobe.
Somehow, ya know there's much more to the trip.
This one too I guess.
Yeah you're right, I like rap/hip hop to a certain extent, and four tet/burial/sbtrkt are awesome ('specially live), but this whole modern rap culture at the moment that is loved primarily by rich white kids is annoying (I think there was a discussion about this in a different thread a while back). I mean I can get behind some older rap and rap of that style, but a lot of the modern rap artists (that I know of) are really awful.
Check these guys out
New Andy Stott album is great. Love his intricate murky textures (sounds like Burial + Gas + Scuba all mixed together)
Great recommendation. Love them.
I know severisth has checked me out but band from Toronto called Metz.
