I just finished Manton's book. Many here have lamented the lack of pictures. I now invite you to help assemble a reader's companion. (Yes, I have cleared this with Manton, thus avoiding my ruin) My hope is to give something back to this forum, and future readers, and to Manton (b/c a guide can only spur book sales, etc) My hope is that the SF'ers who are bored have a little fun with this scavenger hunt. My hope is that the "guide" will prompt more discussion/debate on the topics covered. I started a spreadsheet that outlines every celebrity reference (for starters) he makes in the book, with the intent that we can hunt down picture(s) that illustrates his point. If none is available, SF readers are free to find a substitution that equally illustrates the point being made. Note: The grid is not editable, as its NOT intended final product, just an outline http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...NaHlodkE&hl=en In parallel, the final guide will be this Powerpoint presentation. http://docs.google.com/present/edit?...eGM2cmYz&hl=en The slides are in a 1:1 correspondence with the rows in the spreadsheet. If you change the number of rows in the spreadsheet (split a row into 2 b/c of multiple examples, etc), then please keep the presentation in sync, and add a slide. (Slide -> Insert Slide) FYI: Yes, I have the spreadsheet backed up, and can revert nefarious edits, etc. (Like Wiki)

FYI, I just made my first contribution to this spreadsheet by increasing the font from 10pt to 11pt.

I might put in some formulas. Stay tuned.

Ooops. Changed cell background for "Short Man" to red.

Sorry about that. But maybe it works...

I tried formatting Conan O'Brien as a percentage.

    It doesn't work. Any thoughts?

Changed it to a more racially-stereotypical "short man" color.

    Good team work!

I've added a new column called,"Transformers," just for mafoofan. I've also added a column for "Kosher Meats" for iammatt.

Alright, there is now a border from A46 to D55.

No one else is allowed within this border.

    I mean it.

    Does this help?
Buy a fake. Do the research, and find the right website. My friend paid $300 for several fake Rolex watches, and they can't tell the difference at the Rolex store. It's impossible to tell if you get a top quality fake. $300 vs. $2000. No brainer. Your money is best invested elsewhere.
