I think the silhouette is key, but to opinion on it we need real photos.
About the comfort. It is difficult whiteout wearing them

Totally agree. Let's get the first set of sampling done, made, and photographed. Then we can finalize together regarding colour options and final aesthetic tweaks.

Regarding field testing for comfort etc, we could do some internally or even better nominate a respected long time member of SF to give them a go? Will defer to you all to select and suggest.

Also wanted to apologise that this has slowed down a little. There is something exciting coming up which we will announce and will explain the slow down a little bit, but either way hopefully we can steer this back on track and make up for lost time.

Best,

R

Good news everyone!

The basic silhouette from the aggregated answers has just arrived. Please note we have not stitched the sole to the shoe in order to make up for lost time.

It would be great if we could all now get a conversation going about small changes required. We have tested the shoe for comfort and it is really nice particular with the calfskin chosen.

With regards to final first-release colour options, this is where we currently stand:

White Calf with Tan Interior - White Sole - OPTION 1
Black Calf with Tan Interior - Black Sole - OPTION 2
Anticato in a range of colours - Tan Interior - White Sole
(We get a lot of room with these, see our hand-welted anticatos) - OPTION 3 - 6
Kangaroo Leather White - White Interior - White Sole - OPTION 7
Suede in 3 colours (Navy, Chocolate, Beige?) - White Sole - OPTION 8 - 10

Looking forward to hearing all your thoughts!

I think the shape looks good, but I maintain that the anticato should have a tonal or beige sole. A brown shoe with a white sole looks bad

As I’ve said I agree about the sole.

About the silhouette. Will all of them be open laced? I don’t lmow if I speak only for me, nut I feel that sneakers look better with snclosed lace system, as is usually done

I'm open to high contrast soles (brown with white, black with white) but also understand the preference for tonal soles.

I guess the situation with sole colors comes down to minimums. The other option is we could confirm anticato colors first and then check in with margom with regards to minimums for the tonal option. This would, however, be more complicated. Do you feel it's just the bright white? We could potentially do an off-white for those if preferred?

I don't know how many people out there have the same preferance, but I will not buy a shoe - any shoe - with a white sole. I don't think off white will help too much unless it's really off - past cream towards gum. If black is the only option without a white sole that's what I'll get, but it would be nice to have at least one option with color.

I’m really not feeling the white soles personally, but I know that is apparently what everyone offers, so maybe it’s what people want. Black soles....hmmm, that’s seems drastic. Not sure if that’s any better than a white sole.

I must say I am willing to still give them a try with white soles, but can’t see more than an overall total of one white soled sneaker in my future.
