Not sure why it’s not very clear, they’ve already explained earlier that a price increase on the v2 was likely, but @Rewiag I think explains it about as clearly as one can.

For what it's worth, I got the v1 at a slight discount and followed up with buying v2 at full retail after seeing quality of construction. I was late to the party and didn't get naked pricing/coupons/etc. Relative the "competition", even at retail the v2 will be better shoes and half the price.

#8 leans a tad bit towards an aubergine or dark wine color depending on the light.

with breaking in, its opens up a bit. But the ox-blood is very much a different color all together.

Thank you. I had ox-blood GATs so thought the sneakers too would be overkill.
But, darn it looks like I should have ordered a #8 too. It seems to be a well-loved chromexcel colour.
