For those interested, the shoes on the left are the Ghirlandina in anticato grey while on the right are the gorgeous kangaroo grey SF-01.

I won’t criticize anyone who says they need driving Mocs - driving is a task that needs safety and attention so do what you gotta do. But personally speaking I’ve driven manuals all my life and anything from flip-flops to combat boots have worked ok. I only use specialized shoes on the track because of the need to heel-toe and constantly ‘dance’ on the pedals and even then they won’t be gomminis because their heels slip off and don’t hold in place laterally.
It’s not that serious bruh...I drive in to work 60 miles each way. My driving shoes make that much more comfortable. I don’t find shifting gears any more difficult with other shoes. The mocs just help me prevent scuffing the backs of my dress boots, while in stop and go traffic up and down I-95.

I finally wore my shoes because I didn't want to go through the returns process for the tongue issue.

1. Relacing helped with the tongue issue, but the laces are definitely too short. I see this is being corrected in V2

2. The shoes are incredibly comfortable.

I'm probably buying a pair of V2 with the code. Are there any other possible leathers being added to the V2 pair or is it the same? I saw there was a post about experimenting with new learher but wasnt sure what shoe it was for.

Chromeexcel might just be a thing but if so we will issue a time limited coupon to anyone who used their v2 one up already that will be for those pairs.

The white calf MIGHT be changed to a pure vege tan offering we have found from st Crispins but hasnt been tested just yet as Italy is on halt. I don't know I kind of don't want to change too much but then I want to make sure there is nothing to say.

We have come up with a floorboard made of a combination of leatherboard and aloe which will replace the fibreboard and that should help differ these from the pack more.

Basic technogel insoles might be a thing we are trying as well.

Just got my sneakers in the mail today in Canada. They are gorgeous and so much comfier than my old Club Monaco white leather sneakers (size too big and barely any cushion). I can see where people are coming from with the kangaroo creases on some, but I think it adds more character to add some uniqueness to the pack of white leather sneakers. However, if using these for “business casual” style, definitely stick to calfskin. Don’t really notice the “tongue gate” however I can see where the cut of the tongue was an issue I’d really looking. Thanks for making a great pair of sneakers @ArchibaldRoh @OrlandoMo . I can see these getting a lot of use, will keep updates after much use. Let us see how they handle the Canadian winter season lol

I guess that is part of the entire process of building a brand. It will prove itself as more customer purchase it. Like I said we are almost out of the first run and the question was based around adding a design without laces. I don't know what the term is for the ones with the plain front that resemble loafers.

You asking us to prove things is something I have no answer to. I don't know how to prove it and content is already quite a struggle for us. I guess it is part of the whole skepticism that makes it much more difficult for smaller brands these days especially ones who make quality claims. Naked is helping dramatically with battling the skepticism though.

It is really interesting through the exchanges we sometimes have I am understand more that you aren't a customer for many of our lines. You need granular validation on individual product and that makes you a different kind of shopper altogether which is very interesting and it actually has taken me a while to understand that. I relish the challenge. My approach to shopping is I start identifying and connecting with a brand and then make it a go-to but I suppose not everyone thinks like that either unless they truly identify with the brand's values.

Yes but seasonal Tod's are marked down for good reason. They actually make most of their money on the classics when it comes to the gommino. Retail is a horrible game haha.
I guess what I was saying was, the goal of making a high quality driving shoe is like...really? Sounds paradoxical, but I suppose most things can be made better, if only incrementally. Who knows, they could turn out to be your best sellers.

For the most, I agree with @ThePetros

I was hoping to see that sweet green kangaroo @OrlandoMo mentioned you might get soon... ;)

fair enough. To reiterate what I thought was clear - you do you. No one has to justify their reasons. I’m just saying I didn’t think there was a large market for these. Early results show that I might be wrong

I also find it surprising there’s a large market for them.

Glad you decided on a Ghirlandina... I decided I am buying a pair tomorrow whilst still at Naked. Personally, i prefer the v5 Ghirlandina over the SF01 but because I prefer the design.

I do love the sleek minimalist look of 6 eyelets on the SF-01 but honestly, the Ghirlandina has NO heel slippage to deal with, unlike the SF-01 v1. So if I were to buy purely on fit, I would also go with the Ghirlandina over the SF-01 v1. Perhaps some of these issues will be fixed with v2.

Maybe they could put some kind of suede in the heel lining to help with that (if they don’t want to modify the last) nine seen it done.
The other thing I though is that the v2 could come with a lace replacement for v1, for those who need longer laces.
