So I was just looking at the GAT's again, and something was just off from the other's I've looked at. I finally noticed it was the middle strip of suede on the side of the shoe that is missing. Was this a design choice, @OrlandoMo ? Just curious

So, I haven't worn my SF-01 in a while. Today I decided to put some reno + crème pommadier on them and to bring them as my only pair of shoes on a 12 day vacation. I know, I know, don't get me started on the rule of never wearing the same pair of shoes on two consecutive days - I know. I just don't care for sneakers.

I'll tell you how they hold up in a few days. The last three times I wore them, it was raining like crazy and some of the creases are setting in, even if they flatten out pretty well when I wear them and they are nice and add character. Let's see in a couple days!

I'd be willing to test out the white on the left (size 41)

Edit: nevermind..just saw Rohan's note
Apparently a brand isnt a brand till there is an after market established and im always looking to push Archibald to the next level... Never worn outside as of yet so willing to pass on at a small premium ???

yep, design choice! We talked about it with our designer and the producer's "model maker" and ended up deciding not to include the side suede in order to make the design sleeker.

So, Archibald London was nice enough to allow me to test this pair of SF-Hi-Tops.

I have to say, being one not too crazy about white sneakers, the gum sole version really caught my fancy.

My thoughts on them:

- personally I feel like this collaboration between SF/AoL has produced an absolutely beautiful shoe.
- Archibald sent two lengths of strings to me and the string length issue has been resolved. Some of the images I’ve shown are with the shorter set, but you can see from the other images the other sets length were perfect.
- no tongue gate issue.
- I wore them with the normal inserts for a little over 11 hours and they were exceptionally comfortable. This was surprising to me, as my plantar fasciitis is pretty severe.
- the extra insole inserts are really, really comfortable. edit: made from cork/fiber board
- the size was 42, and as another poster pointed out when using the normal inserts, there is a noticeable fitting difference. For me, normal insole inserts made the high top a little bit large with thin/medium socks. With my weather proof merino wool socks they fit spot on. edit: The cork/fiber board insole insert, made the fit spot on with thin/medium socks, with the merino wool socks, too tight. You can note the difference in thickness, in the image below, between the two inserts. The normal insert is on the left.

- there was one thing that was curious to me. The leather on the hi-tops, seems inferior to my SF-01 Sienna calf low tops. When I press down with my thumb on the hi-tops leather, the crinkling of the hi-tops leather is much more, vs my SF-01’s. Perhaps it’s just the difference between veg tan and chrome tanned.

Overall, I really think AoL has done it again with an outstanding hi-top version of their SF sneaker. I’m definitely looking forward to purchasing some of the additional colors, and leathers they settle on.

I fell in love with these the moment I saw them. This is, in my opinion, and even better shout than the low tops. The white and gum combo makes it that much better.

I hope these go up for sale ASAP.

Those high tops are one good looking shoe. If it was available before the SF-01 v1, I probably would have copped black high tops instead of the v1s.

Are there plans to produce more or is this a 1 off super limited edition?
BTW, do you find the deerskin to be softer? How durable ?

Yeah, I’m in real trouble if they make these available in the same colors, and leathers as the SF-01’s.

I agree, when I saw photos of them here I thought, those are really good looking shoes, I was surprised at how good looking the are in person.

Great review. So does this mean that if my SF-01’s fit just right with the old insoles, any subsequent orders with the new insoles will likely be too tight/need sizing up?
